Ow, My Arm! Favre Has Strange Elbow Injury
As if the Vikings needed anything else to worry about after losing their first two games, apparently Brett Favre has a right elbow injury.
How bad is it? What's exactly wrong with the elbow? Your guess is good as mine. When asked about his elbow, Brad Childress replied, "Just (a) right elbow."
Favre is still listed as probable, and of course he's going to play. So is this a serious concern, or is this just a convenient built-in excuse if his play doesn't improve against Detroit? Reminds me of something...
Enjoy the rest of your Friday boys and girls. Check back for lots more this weekend leading up to the game.

My life blows as it is....
… without the constant stream of negative developments and depressing news I get from my favorite team this year. Maybe it’s about time to stop following the Vikings (after40 years). I have enough disappointment in my everyday life to keep this up much longer. Sick of only disappointing news.
Get off the ledge my friend.
And don’t panic.
Remember, our first two games were markedly more difficult than last years first two games.
Favre took a good three games into the regular season to get back into the groove, why would we assume he would get back into the groove faster this year when he is a year older?
Give it a little time, we still have a great team.

Give it a few weeks
You have been a fan for how long and should know many good teams have come back from 0-2 starts.
Chris Cook will be playing, there is your good news.
Favre: It's rare to ever see a QB be so indecisive, waffle...
It's also unlikely to have one start 19 consecutive seasons.
Pfft
Enough of this “pre-built excuse” nonsense.
That whole thing started when favre complained about his biceps when playing for the Jets. Everyone thought it was an excuse and we have since proven that it was no excuse.
I am tired of hearing this bull. Our fist two games this year were ten times more difficult than last years first two games, and we still had a chance to win both of those games. It’s not like Favre hit some magical wall that makes him suck now, it is a differed year.
Stop expecting us to perform the same against the best team in the league as we would against the worst team in the league.

Amen. Yes I have reached my limit on the passive aggressive BS on thsi site too … not just against Favre, but Berrian, Rice, McKinnie, Loadholt, Lewis, Tahi, Toby, Shepherd, Allen, you name a Viking, someone is dumping on them here. Even Petrson, multi-lakes wants us to trade him. Stop spewing this crap!
This, this is nothing.
Reminds me of Dustin Hoffman’s character in Wag the Dog. Every time there is some new wrinkle in their plans he says, “This, this is nothing.” I’m waiting for someone from the Vikings organization to say something like that. So far, no dice.
Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge.

Don't be hatin y'all
What’s up with all the hating going on about Favre? Is he not trying to win? We lose 2 games and last season’s hero is a villain. Come on, keep it positive. Game runs through his veins. Nobody loves the game like he does. Who here has the gall of saying that he came back for money? He has played 20 years with injuries and he will play this Sunday.

Sorry guys
I just want to clear up any confusion here—my tongue was planted pretty firmly in my cheek when I posted this. I thought the Caddyshack reference
Please read my weekly preview article that should be up later this afternoon—Bjorno hit it right on the head. Our first two opponents in 2010 have been MUCH tougher than who we played in 2009. I’m not hating on Favre by any means—more just poking fun at the vagueness of the sudden injury. Who does Childress think he is, Bill Belichick?!

I thought the Caddyshack reference
made it pretty obvious that it was a lighthearted post.
Sorry, didn’t finish my sentence in the first post.

Sometimes it is tough...
Especially in type and during a time when everyone else seems to be saying the same thing you are saying Tongue-in-cheek but actually being serious about it.
We still have great team and a stellar defense which is about to get better. So we got that goin’ for us, which is nice.
Yeah I know
It’s tough to portray that when you’re just typing the words with no tone of voice…however, a good rule of thumb with most of my posts: if it seems like it might be sarcastic, it probably is. :)

I loved the reference too man
Hilarious, and wish some would lighten up as well. As Bjorno said, got alot good going and people just seem too uptight right now. I loved it. Maybe for those that are a little wound up, should have posted this seen since everyone is already getting sick it seems.

Favre's not in it for the money
If he were. he would’ve stayed retired from the Packers. I think he’s in it for the adulation, the “I’m a hero” aspect of the QB position, the camaraderie with his teammates, the fact that he would be bored during the season if he weren’t playing.
The reason I don’t like Favre is because he will never know when he’s had enough. He will never know when his body prevents him from performing up to his normal – if not a “just average” – level of skill. He will possibly, at some point, become a detriment to the Vikings because he won’t sit if he needs to and so far has shown that he won’t sit even if told to by Chilly. In short, I think that he thinks that he is bigger than the team, and that the team exists only to get him one last shot at a ring.
I prefer my players to be team players, not people wrapped up in their own egos.
A interesting story ?
" Jaws " the former QB broke down film on Brett vs. MIA . Brett was said to be as effective as 09’ . The O-line is faltering at this point . I have stated this for a while . Sullivan had ankle surgery in the off season . And added a calf injury in camp . Until the Center play increases we may struggle a bit . The Defense is near healthy . And the Offense is struggling to stay healthy . DET is a must win game . Two weeks rest . Then a Jets team that isn’t known for it’s Offense . Then a struggling Cowboy team . Hopefully Sid will be a suprize show for GB ! NE . Then if healthy it’s all down hill boys !!!
Yeah, I saw that segment and agreed with Jaws. The pocket is collapsing up the middle on him too fast, and McKinnie and Loadholt have been getting beat too much.
It’s not just the Sullivan’s play, it’s Herrea’s as well. They’ve both looked iffy. Pay attention to those two against Suh today.
