Vikings Have NOT Signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh
Apparently some Fox Sports affiliate somewhere posted on their Twitter that the Vikings had signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who had been released by the Seattle Sehawks today.
As of right now. . .7:37 PM Central time on Saturday. . .that is NOT the case. The Vikings have not signed Houshmandzadeh, and at this point may not have even spoken with him.
So there you go. . .no Housh for the Vikings as of right now.

I already have a housh.
Yesh, I do. I’m not shure if I’d like another one. I’d have to take out another mortgage…har har har.
He came out a bit like a doushe lasht year and I’m not shure what he’d bring to the table thish year…other than giving Chilly a little more depth at WR the firsht half of the sheashon. Maybe at the right prishe, and if he agreesh to wear a shirt that has “I’m the D-bag who chose Seattle” on it.
Oh, Housh…

Thanks for the update
I was detained and not able to check in. Great thing is all the eyes we have right here on DN where I know I can get updates almost as soon as they come. Tho sometimes rumors, I have to confess ( and most of you) the rumors are sometimes something to wonder about and ponder.
So once again-thanks to all you guys who keep things updated. Especially from us outside the Twin Cities who don’t get some of the local reports as fast.
The Vikings are talking to Housh's agent
They do want to bring him on board. To clear space they will trade a DL for future considerations
If you have inside info, why don’t you just zip your lip. Be a team player, and don’t screw up whatever the Vikings have cooking. Thanks.

he doesn't have inside info
If you post something that is not common knowledge provide a source. Anyone who doesn’t should be ignored.
Come on
it isn’t unrealistic to say they are talking to his agent. It is posted everywhere. It also isn’t unrealistic to point out they will trade one of TEN defensive linemen to make room, especially when we only have THREE helathy corners…..So, just sayin’…. if anything should be ignored, it should be your comment, not his observation.
Re-sign Walker
Read that Walker’s contract would have been guaranteed if he made the 53-man roster. Vikes may re-sign him so they can cut him when Rice returns without paying a full season’s salary.
Well, if they sign Houshyourmomma
Walker isn’t needed.

ugh.
I don’t like the idea of TJ Houshthrowmetheballa joining the team…
So I’m hoping this doesn’t happen.

Interesting.
Any idea what team we’re talking too? Also where are you getting your info?

Then they must think they'll re-sign Edwards AND Robison
to long term deals. Hmmm…..

didnt they release Housh?
I BELIEVE...
by ArizonaVikingsFan on Sep 4, 2010 9:37 PM CDT reply actions
Yes, Seattle did
"Whoever said that the pen is mightier than the sword never encountered automatic weapons."
then...
we wouldn’t be offering a trade for him, right? It would be a straight up ‘how much cash’ deal…
Did I misread above re: DLineman tade?…

We need to make roster space...
So people are saying we’ll trade a D-Lineman for future picks to do so….
that’s the trade… not for Housh…
hmmm...
DLinemen for Moss would be a better use…
thanks for clearing that up though.
I BELIEVE...

I would give Edwards to NE for Moss
Brian can handle the job and to be honest, I think Ray is going to be asking way more than the Vikes will dish out. Considering we have the depth and BR keeps busting his butt to get stronger. Then, if Edwards did stay then Brians the bait. Shoot, we got like ten? They might take a younger prospect
All wishful thinking

Why would they trade Griffen?
I mean he’s a rookie… We don’t know what he’s capable of yet.
I totally want Housh though.
We've got ten solid D-lineman so we're probably just shopping the bottom three or four guys for some draft picks.
Taking a page out of the old New England playbook and milking our extra talent for picks. Nice to see our team in the rich get richer position for once.

Again Im hearing that Housh is only looking to the Vikes, not hearing Griffen trade roumors anymore. hes off the trade block
Raise your hand if you would rather have a good O-Lineman
Whats the point of having another receiver if Brett is always flat on his back?
Linemen…..more bang for the buck.
what??
you know how dangerous it is to go into the season with only 4 active wide receivers. And this is also going to prevent us from running any 5 wr sets. Unless they plan on resigning walker soon or douche, i am fine, but untill that.
Can we stop complaining about what a player’s personality might be like, when there is literally nothing to go off of other than some reports last year? Everything I’ve heard about him from his days in Cinci is that he’s a great teammate and a likeable guy.
If I can infer a moment here, it also seems like he understands he’s a better cog than a key piece. He was great with the Bengals because Chad Johnson took away a lot of the pressure. He didn’t have that in Seattle. He didn’t have anything in Seattle.
Anyways, we’re all mad that he burned the team for Seattle. I’m sure his choice would have been different if Brett Favre was officially on the roster at that time. I’m not so sure he fits, because Percy is a fantastic slot receiver already. But if it’s cheap than I’m all for trying things out. I think he’s still got stuff left in the tank. If nothing else, it’s just Wilf’s money.
Case of the beet bandit. Missing beets from all over the farm, no footprints. Inside job. Mose in socks. Boom. Case closed. -Dwight Schrute
I've read that he DOESN'T see himself as a cog at all,
And that he whines like Roy Williams when the ball isn’t getting thrown his way enough for his liking. What are we supposed to go off on, if not reports from last season? They showed how he’s gonna be when Brett’s gone, when things start not working out so rosily.
Troy Williamson was released by the Jaguars.
We could sign him. And with his speed and hands…… nevermind.

Fox sports radio...
Keeps running with the story that TJ was signed by the Vikings.
Anyone have any confirmation?
Same...
At least now we have word straight from the balding horse’s mouth.
Brad Childress says we are not interested in TJ.
Jon Krawcznski of the AP Sport reported (3 hours ago)
Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress is staunchly defending his decision to keep Tarvaris Jackson as Brett Favre’s backup over Sage Rosenfels.
Childress discussed the roster moves on Sunday, two days after the Vikings traded Rosenfels to the New York Giants.
Rosenfels had the better statistics in the preseason, but Childress says Jackson has been better in practice and is the guy who would give the Vikings the best chance to win if Favre went down.
Childress also says Percy Harvin will be the team’s kick returner when they open at New Orleans on Thursday night. Bernard Berrian and Greg Camarillo will split punt return duties.
The coach says the team is not interested in free agent receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (who’s-your-mamma). ;>)
Besides not ever having called offensive plays as a Offensive Coach with the Philadelphia Eagles, Childress is still not able to call the plays for the Minnesota Vikings as the Head Coach. Childress is also very stuborn and will not backdown from a bad draft pick, such as Tarvaris Jackson.
If Joe Webb is the 3rd string QB on the Vikings, maybe he should do the kickoff returns for the Vikings, Webb is built like a “Brink’s Truck” and can easily get 40 yard return on the kickoffs. Percy Harvin with his migrain problems should not be exposed to the mayhem of defensive scapehunters during the returns……The Vikings did pick Joe Webb in the draft to be a running back, so use him as a running back for the kickoffs.
Everyone we meet in life give us happiness, some by their arrival, others by their departure!
Must be a plan B there....
… right?
I’m hoping the answer is yes, because going into the Saints game with 4 wide receivers without making the effort to get TJ seems a bit surprising.
I would guess they have someone else targeted. Any ideas?
