This was worth a good laugh. You probably should be more worried about using your voodoo to protect Drew Brees from the Madden Curse, though.
He has already covered that one as well.

Saints are Christians aren't they ???
Maybe Jared will give Brees back a few of those Monnkey Knees while diving into the pile after a few of Drew’s strips !!
Why is it that we Vike fans are accused of whining .
How many times can I half congradulate the Canal boys ? On Thursday they will be getting all Purple in the face . I see Sean Payton opened his mouth again . He condoned dirty play . Saying it got them to Miami . And that is all that counts .

You have never even made an attempt at the slightest notion of half congratulations
You have always been inflamatory, and we just expect it now. You have bitched and moaned worse than almost everyone else from the DN. You can say what you want about all that you want, you can continue to bitch and whine as I know you will, and even pull your “predictions” out of your ass like I have already seen, but you still won’t take that Lombardi from us.
Now that is off my chest, let’s all hope for the best game possible. We are both missing key components and quality starters from last years teams. I wish you well, just not well enough to beat us. GEAUX SAINTS

Now we have to listen to poor NO and the oil spill
Funny. Sports anchors were in NO advertising how the industry is good and to come down and enjoy the great food-everything is fine.
I live off the gulf coast the oil went with the Gulf currnt out to sea. Yes there weer some terrible problems but the good folks of NO seem to be OK. I feel for the wildlife just remember- crude oil is biodegradabe (still makes a mess) Paul Harvey once commented on the hysteria in Valdez and said we do what we can but most of the oil will disinigrate. Also and example of the hundreds of ships in the war that leaked refined oil products into the sea by the thousands of gallons ( a worse environmental problem) but where has it all gone? The seas survived and nature replentished.
Don’t underestimate environmental issues bu thtis has nothing to do with New Orleans deserving to win another Super Bowl

Sounds like someones scared of how good the vikes really are so they need to try a spell because they know they got lucky last game! It’s all good do what u got to do a million vodo dolls couldn’t stop the vikes were comming for you and not stoping untill we get to Dallas for the ring SKOL VIKES!!!
One thing's for sure Cali
It won’t be “Dallas” getting that ring. Guaranteed! This game won’t be anything about luck. It all has to be skill. And it’s a matter of who will has the most skill that game for 60 full minutes You’re right about us getting very lucky that game. We know ya’ll are gunning hard for us and we better be prepared or we’re in deep trouble. Hopefully we can stop the run, that’s the area for concern. But it will be a helluva game regardless! May the best team win that night. Hopefully the Saints. Go Saints!!!
Wait
You want the best team to win now? Would you be okay if the strategy to win was to hit late or hit low in order to injure a player? Is that about skill?
Dat sure is some darn good rhymes dat you done dere Gris Gris.

I appreciate very much what you and many on here have had to say…I took the spell down because it was not my intention to insult your team or your fans, I got into a beef with some PETA bread nutchick over on OUR page, Dave really pissed me off after I asked him for some help with her…the lil trick dropped the F bomb on me numerous times and I responded, not using that type of profanity but in my own way. Dave not only did not stand up for me when all I asked her was to not read my spells/posts if they offended her as a bottom line…just stay off my posts instead of running her trashy low class mouth all over it…Dave didn’t see my side and I can’t help it if he’s PWhipped by some redheaded PETA brained low class potty mouthed chick, but I can help where and what I post. I thought the least I could do was not leave the site insulting you guys, that was not my intention! When I see many of you here understand it’s just my way to have a lil fun with each weeks games I am humbled and very very appreciative of the cool and kind remarks. I have the utmost respect for the Vikings as a team and for any poster who deserves respect…to those who don’t well I guess I get a lil laugh at them if I upset them, but for Dave to be such a turd…piss on him is all I can say! I asked him to delete my account and today is the first time I came to check and see if he had done that…obviously he has not…SKOAL VIKES AND WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA PISS OFF THE POPE (or GGM)

Actually this is the best way to start a fight on CSC...lol
Ask some coon-asses about food and they will soon be fighting amongst themselves.
I usually use a few shortcuts, so I need to know if you have access to the following. I am going to assume you can get crawfish(your post just came up saying you can).
Tony Chacheere’s creole seasoning.
And do you know how to make a rue?
"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG
Doh
Almost forgot my secret ingredient: I don’t suppose you can get Zatarain’s liquid crab boil?
"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG
Ok, but the rue for etouffee usually uses real butter
I’ll get rid of the crab boil and tony’s in this recipe but you are going to have to do a lot of taste testing at end to suit your tastes.
I don’t ever measure anything so this is hard for me to put in words so bear with me.
ingredients:
1 pound of peeled crawfish tails, (if you are cleaning them try to get the fat out of the heads, it is actually a pseudo liver but most people call it fat)
1 large onion finely chopped about 2 cups
3-4 stalks of celery finely chopped
1/2 a bell pepper or 1 small one
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 bunch of green onions chopped
2-3 bay leaves
a pinch of cayenne pepper
salt to taste
1 stick of lightly salted butter
some flour
1/2 a can of tomato paste a few tablespoons
ok, put all of the veggies in the pot except the green onions. add about a tablespoon of butter and cook on medium low heat till they are wilted(onions will be clear) While that is going on I make a rue in a skillet. melt the butter in a skillet on medium heat then add flour till it has the consistency of pudding. It should be bubbling all over. stir constantly until it is dark brown. Using butter is a little trickier than oil but worth it, try not to burn the butter.
Once the veggies are clear, add about 4 cups of water, bay leaves, and the crawfish. Bring to a boil then lower heat and cover pot and cook for about 15 minutes. Stir in the rue and a minute later it should be thicker than a soup but thinner than a stew. If it is too thin add more rue.Now add your seasonings, a pinch of cayenne and a couple of dashes of salt. Adjust to taste.
Now add the green onions and cook for about 3-5 more minutes. Serve over rice.
Hope that helps.

"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG

Here is the spell- Cut and pasted from the Saints site
Deep in the swamp on a zombie’s grave site,
Where dead men walk I come calling tonight,
I boil up and conjure in my big magic pot,
A spell to make sure the Vikings win dey cannot,
I’m calling on Papa Legba and Marie Laveau,
To give me your blessing so my Voodoo can flow,
I add into my pot some hair off Adrian’s head,
Now dat purple helmet fool can’t outrun the dead,
I put in some road kill all rotting with lice,
So sitting at home there is something to eat for Rice,
I mix in some bat wings and crushed monkey knees,
To keep Jared Allen from ever getting to Brees,
Now Berrian and Johnson and Reynaud we know,
That after this spell they can run real slow,
Now there is one more player whose hair is all grey,
Let’s make Brett Favre has another terrible day,
Our pass rush will have him falling to the ground,
And when he does throw it interceptions will abound,
These Vikings bleed purple that is what they say,
So purple it is and make dem bleed it all day,
Now dear Papa Legba there is no cause for alarm,
And I don’t want you to kill dem or bring dem much harm,
Just rough dem up and scuff dem up and kick ‘em in da head,
Den rub some monkey grease on dem before dey get all dead,
But this year there is one ting dat I sure wish you’d change,
When dem sissy ViQueens lose dey sure is a pain,
They whine and they cry and they act like they crazy,
It’s poor sportsmanship and dey worse den a baby,
So ol Papa Legba ifs you got some raisins or peas,
They need dem a set to hang between their knees,
I hear dey got them some gods named Thora or Wombat,
So if you run into them clowns be sure to give ‘em a jaw jack,
Now remember this Thursday who will come marching in,
And with you and my voodoo we can make da Saints win,
This spell is now cast for our beloved Black and Gold,
So there aint no doubt the Saints will trash these trolls!
"Is it normal to wake up in the morning in a sweat because you can't wait to beat another human's guts out?"
Joe Kapp

mm, i think you are missing it a little...
this guy is known on canal street for posting weekly voodoo spells against their opponents.

that's fine, but it's not a reason to rip on someone either. some people like harmless fun.
in the future there will be no war...there will only be rollerball.
this is probably no the best site for you then. All the regular writers are now, increasingly as time goes by it seems, putting their major effort into stamping their pieces with their style, yes sometimes as the expense of the X’s and O’s. What GGM wrote actually fit right in with that theme. It’s your expectations that don’t … for better or worse.
that may be
It is not my style to do all the pre game, what ever you want to call it. But i am here for the blatantly obvious fact that this is a sports blog, and as it happens to be i throughly enjoy the vikes. I might not see the enjoyment in this, but somebody else does and good luck to them. But i dont care for it, that is an opinion.
I initially felt the same...
I preferred to do without this nonsense, but it is light-hearted and harmless, and most everyone else found it fun. Now I think of him as a Voodoo mascot… he’s just supporting his team in a creative way and helping to fuel the anticipation.
Not a rebuttal to your post,
but is anyone else just about anticipated out? I’ve been in a fever pitch for about 2 weeks.
i guess i can see where you are coming from
it might just take a little more time for me to acclimate to this
Jshore

Put up 14 points, at home, against a team that was missing it’s #1 receiver, it’s # 2 tailback and 2 starting defensive players. Also had a QB that hadn’t played but 2 quarters in the entire offseason! Wow! I’m impressed!!!!
Funny how I look at both games and see a team that is far better, and had karma against them cause them to lose. NO just played an AVERAGE team, due to above circumstances, and looked weak at best.
I for one leave this game impressed with the depth on our defense. I wish we could have had our whole compliment of offensive weapons like our opposition, but now I know we will be fine once they return. We only need to make the playoffs and all else will be ok.
Saints fan here.
Just watched the game and have to say both defenses stole the show. AP looked great. Saw the ESPN interview with Brett and [ IMO ] he is a class act! Your lucky to have him back and will be just fine. We looked sloppy at times but did get it done. Our defense looked much improve against the run. Our run game looked pretty damn good when finally got on the field against what I think is one of the best run defenses in the NFL.Bottom line? Think we will see you again. Would like to say that in the NFC championship game I felt that if we were to lose it’s the Vikes that I could live with. What ever your feeelings about that game, at least we went on to beat the great Colts. As I would have hoped for you guys and gals had we lost. If your going to take away my shot at the SB, at least win it all. Well we did. GOTHIC PURPLE if ur a guy your spending WAYYYYYY too much time worring about another guys complexion. [ Brees ] LOL

thanks for the comments. you guys are a solid team. you deserved to win. good luck this year.
i hope we do get to meet again in the play-offs. i’m sure it will be another hard fought game.
all the best to the saints fans!!!
in the future there will be no war...there will only be rollerball.
I found the post entertaining too
It was in a light hearted, good prodding way. That’s what these sites are about. Good natured ribbing among fans of different teams. Too many other d-bags to worry about than to just cut everyone off at the knees. I don’t get it….
Anyway, good win by the Saints. I take the loss with grace and take a lot out of it. I am very encouraged by our defense that didn’t even have it’s full compliment of players. Hard to beat a quality team at their house without that. But anyway, I am encouraged…
GGman is a CSC staple. Like rice.
How he finds the time to churn out a new spell every week is beyond me but everyone enjoys them. I stayed up way to late to catch the post game interviews and saw Bretts. What a stand up guy. I think if the ankle holds up you Vikes fans will have a lot to cheer about. AP also looked great. Was able to do what he does and still it was obvious he was intent on not let’n the pig get out. Well good luck and stop by CSC and kick it around.
