My regular season predictions.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is my first post here on this awesome blog site. I comment on posts here, and am happy that there are (most of the time) smart and educated comments here. It is great to see people who have the same views as you on football and Vikings related news. Even when people disagree, you can see both points of views and how they came up with their opinions. I live in Rhode Island, and being the only Vikings fan I know here( with a lot of Packers fans as friends) is tough. Patriots fans are very annoying and biased by the way. But I also felt like making a few predictions for the regular season, because everyone is more focused on the Saints game right now than the whole season. Which you can't say is a bad thing at all.                                                                                            The season, every game W or L

Week 1:Saints: W.  This game will most likely showcase if our secondary can sustain the beating of very good passing offenses that we face this season, like the Packers and Patriots. If our secondary can hold down the fort, and Adrian Peterson doesn't give the ball away like its a gift for we should defeat the Saints. The one thing to worry about is the beating.Legal hits are fine with me, but if I see one late hit that is not called, I'm going to throw the remote at the TV. 1-0                   Week2:Miami:W. This should be an interesting game to watch, but I just cannot see a reason why we would lose. The coaches will probably work on defending the Wildcat the whole week in preparation.                 Week 3: Detroit:W: I get scared every time that we play the Lions, because we always seem to under perform against them. I am a big fan of Calvin Johnston, and I am hoping we triple cover him on every play, because this man knows the game so well. I hope Favre puts on a show in this game, and I also think that All Day has a pretty decent chance to go over 200 yards here. 3-0                Week 4:Bye: Having a week 4 bye stinks. What else can you say?                Week 5:NYJ:L: I am saying this considering that Revis just came back, and Rex Ryan is probably going to murder Favre. Also I like being an underdog (i.e. Cowgirls last year), and if we lose this game everyone will start talking about how terrible we are. So its a lose and win situation here. 3-1                Week 6:Cowboys:W: I am getting tired of even hearing the name Cowboys because they are overrated and are all divas( yes, Romo, you are). We will hopefully do even better than last year. 4-1                       Week 7:Packers:L: I think there will be way too much pressure on the Vikings in this game. They will have to get to Rodgers as much as they did last year. A loss here would make the underdog role even greater, and might make the Vikings to rethink some strategies. 4-2           Week 8:Patriots:W: This would make my life easier in Rhode Island. Enough said. Seeing Randy there is going to be painful. Allen has to get to Brady, or our secondary is going to blow the game.            Week 9:Cards:W: If Warner was there, I would have said loss, but he is gone. Anderson is not good, even if he has Larry Fitz. Also half of their prominent defenders are gone. 6-2                    Week10:Bears:W: I do not think we can lose this one, because we should pick Cutler off at least once, and shut down Forte and Taylor. And, oh yeah, their defense is terrible. 7-2                     Week11:Packers:W: This is when we beat them. They are going to think they are much better than us, and we are going to show up fired up and ready to go. By the way, I think that the Packers games are more important than the Saints game.                 Week12:Redskins:W: The Redskins got better in the offseason, in part to the additions of McNabb and Shanahan. But I think that our offense will overpower their defense. 9-2                   Week13:Bills:W: If we lose this one, we do not deserve to go to the playoffs. Really though. 10-2              Week14:Giants:W: They Giants improved this offseason, but I think we will continue our 4 year win streak against them. 11-2                Week15:Bears:W: Again, not enough talent to beat our talent. 12-2  Week16:Eagles:W: Andy Reid knows our team in and out, but I think this is finally the year that the apprentice wins.                       Week17:Lions:W: This is a toss up because our starters would basically be resting by now. But our second string defense is probably better than the Lions starting unit. 14-2                                                                        Yes, I am predicting a 14-2 season from our guys this year. Since Brad Childress came we have improved 2 games each year. I don't see why we couldn't improve from last year. I just don't know how we are going to go              16-0 next year.....

-All Day will finally make my name prominent and win MVP after rushing for more than 2,100 yards and more than 20 scores. This is not me being biased. I think this dude is all that. Then I will change my name to: AllDayMVP2.1K.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Favre will survive the season. No worries.                                                                                                                               Chris Cook is going to become one of the premier corners in the league. In his rookie season.

14-2 is a bit steep.

pretty tough schedule, with a lot of ? in the offense.
Same could be said about AP’s 2100 rushing yards.

I’m all for it though. Whatever it takes to get to Dallas.

So if Rex Ryan murders Favre...

are the remaining games all with Tavaris at QB or does Favre rise from the grave to prove that he is truly invincible?

Brett Favre, quarterback.

A quarterback barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world’s first bionic quarterback. Brett Favre will be that quarterback. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

They know that. Nice predictions. Good logic. Got a bit carried away I think…esp with Patriots.

Here is my worst case scenario:
Saints: We take out Brees’ knees (Score doesn’t matter, counts as win for me)
Miami: 50-50
Lions: We win but OL has to keep Suh away from Favre.
Jets: We lose
Cowboys: We win
Packers: We lose
Patriots: We lose ($58 mil…Brady has to show he is worth)
Cards: Anderson vs Favre…hahaha
Bears: Cutler hahaha (we did lose to them last year though)
Packers: We win
Bills: We win?
Giants: Sage and Reynaud are going to come back to bite Chilly in the behind but we still win
Bears: We win
Eagles: Kevin Kolb? We win
Lions: Suh and Stafford anyone? We still win

So worst case: If we lose to Saints, Fins, Packers, Patriots and Jets – 11-5 with a bonus of Brees’ knees. I say we are in the play-offs.

Funny you should bring that up.

If you are correct and Karma holds true, late in the game the officials will blow several potential game deciding calls. They will all favor the Vikings and Drew Brees will be needing ankle surgery after the game.
I’m really quite surprised that a loyal Saint’s fan like your self, would wish something like that upon your team.

Sure

Man i am getting so tired of the “we need to injure”. For the record, you guys go nuts. Intentionally try to injure. I could give a rats ass anymore. If that is what you are fixated on for the season, best of luck.

YOUR TEAM SHOULD TAKE YOUR ADVICE GRUMPS KARMA IS A BITCH!!!!

50-50 vs the Fins?

Sorry, but if the best the Vikes can muster is a breakeven call vs the Fins at home, they’re in a lot of trouble.

Hey Grumpy,

Google Karma. You seem to not understand how it works. Do they have google in Canada?

Never mind, I’ll give you the gist of Karma:

“Do good things and good things will happen to you,
Do bad things and bad things will happen to you.”

So according to your philosophy, if Karma is going to strike, we get Drew Brees’ knees. I guess you and I are praying for the same thing.

Yeah izzie i understand karma...

“Wish for bad things and bad things will happen to you”. Can you think outside the box or is that impossible for vegetarians? You are hoping that you can injure Drew’s knee. Well maybe it will turn around and #4’s other ankle gets snapped. All that negative energy turns around and comes back and bites you in the ass…or ankle.

I had a thought on this today

With the Vikings tough schedule and early season injuries, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them barely make the playoffs as a Wild Card, only to then be a legit contender to win the Super Bowl. They’ve got a few injuries (Rice, etc.) and players just coming back from injuries, a tough schedule early on, and a QB and offensive line that look like they could have benefited from a couple extra preseason games. If they don’t lose any key starters late in the season, I would guess they’ll be in better shape for the start of the playoffs than they are now heading into the Thursday game. Still, I would be ecstatic to see them beat the Saints, and glued to the TV… Just 49 hours to go!

by rovibe on Sep 7, 2010 5:50 PM CDT reply actions

Before my fellow Norsemen start abusing me for my scenario of losing to Saints, let me explain myself:

We win and Brees’ knees are taken out: HURRAY

We lose and Brees’ knees are taken out: hurray

We win and Brees’ knees are not taken out: No satisfaction. We lost when it mattered and this win will not take their SB rings away from them

We lose and Brees’ knees are not taken out: Some of us break our TVs…etc.

Conclusion: Brees’ knees are very important for Vikings’ happiness. Come Thursday, win or lose Saints should not have fingers to wear their rings. That is the only consolation for what they did to us and to Favre last season.
PS. I know a lot of you are thinking, this guy needs to tone it down a little. Trust me, this is me toned down.
