Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Continues Rampage, New York Wins On Road

"Minnesota DC Frazier refuses to rule out CB Cedric Griffin for Saints game. Could happen. Right now, #Vikings have 3 healthy CBs."

ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert, via the magic of Twitter.

Hey, if Frazier thinks he's ready, then get him out there.

Man. . .who thought eight months ago that, come opening night, there was a chance that both Cedric Griffin and E.J. Henderson would be on the football field?

heart of a champion

i can name no other nfl team with players we have on this roster. Good luck Cedric

Yep

Just like E.J., dude has busted his ass to get out on the field and be a part of this team.

The fact that we haven’t gone to the waiver wire or the FA pool for a corner as of today tells me that the odds of Griffin being out there on Thursday are actually pretty good.

Thank God

And honestly I wouldn’t have taken a bet 8 months ago about either being on the field because I would have felt bad about taking your money…

Of course you might have made it back if you call Rice out.

It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...

HUGE News!

If he can play effectively, I’ll take our chances with a healthy WInfield and Ced. When Cook comes back, that’s a VERY solid nickel package, and although Lito Sheppard makes an average to medicore starter, I’ll take him or Asher Allen as the dime.

Things have taken an upswing, boys and girls.

Simply amazing development

Now I can see Antoine blitzing off the edge……

As long as it's not too soon.

We don’t want this injury lingering around.

Unless Griff’s been practicing with the 1st team for the last couple wks, he won’t be ready to take on the Saints Thursday Night. Lets make sure he’s in damn good shape before he takes the field.

A quote from Adrian today......

“Those guys got some cheap shots in,” Peterson said. “We’re going to definitely eliminate those hits and protect him more and we’re definitely going to be the ones delivering the blows.”

I know it is unrelated, but still a good read.

I hope to God he'll lay a lick on em.

I’ve always though the Vikes were to nice of a team. You need people who will hit someone and make him remember it.

Huh.

I wonder if he’ll actually see the field, or if it’s just a diversionary tactic of Frazier’s.

What’s Henderson’s status for the game?

by packallday555 on Sep 6, 2010 5:28 PM CDT reply actions

From Judd Zuglad
■Frazier said middle linebacker E.J. Henderson will not be held back in any situation and is 100 percent ready to play after returning from a broken leg.

LOL really, four times? I think some would refer to this as being deeked?

That’s pretty amazing. Definitely have a lot of respect for Henderson.

Amazing...

… but I hope it speaks more to how much progress Cedric has made, as opposed to not being comfortable with Allen and Sheppard. We need lots of healthy bodies for the Saints, and we don’t have them.

Still, seems this is more likely good news than not. As long as Cedric can play well and not hurt his knee again.

Skol!

Is there any topic.......

you don’t insert negativity into? We DO have healthy bodies, save a few players. But, this is no different than every other team. Great conclusion also, hoping he doesn’t hurt his knee again. No shyt oh wise one.

by Mel Allen on Sep 7, 2010 4:16 PM CDT up reply actions

The question is, is it worth letting Griffin get hurt again just so we can win this first game? I hope he’s 100% ready. This game is, to me, vitally important- we can erase bad memories and truly start fresh- better than fresh, actually, it will be ‘proof’ that we’re a better team than the last year’s team that came SO CLOSE to that super bowl. But in the end it’s still just 1 game out of 16, and I’d prefer a 15-1 record with Griffin healthy throughout the year….

If we beat the Saints

Um kinda… I’m sacrificing a chicken and a goat personally.

Cedric is 1 of my favorite players

and I hope he’s out there tearin’ it up. Wish Cook could’ve been there to help out or maybe split some time…oh well.

Let’s go get ’em good, defense!

I'm still a Minnesotan at heart...

by urluckyday on Sep 6, 2010 9:30 PM CDT reply actions

This sounds like a fake

If anyone but Frazier were running the defense I’d look at the secondary as insane, at least till Cook is back.
