I don't know who this Omar Kelly is but its interesting

I have no idea why Omar Kelly, apparently of the Orland sentential, would have such a strong inside source. When you sit back and look at the Vikings hires it kinda makes sense. I like what I have seen from Vince on the field. He has had his share of off the field issues though. I think LF is the kind of coach who could help Vince, and the Vikings have a veteran locker room. I am not sure if I am excited or not. Please discuss.

"Bank it"
I really hope this is true. If Vince can come in here with his head on straight, I think he would be an excellent choice to start next year. I think Leslie and Craig Johnson just may do this. A link from Judd and Chip – http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikings/114399909.html -
Hey Ted did you see where Mike Priefer is an ex-helicopter pilot? Could be the stars aligning.
I don't really like it...
If Vince Young comes to the Vikings, he can and probably will become an above average NFL QB. That being said, I don’t think he will ever lead us out of the first round of the playoffs, and I’d be willing to bet he never leads us to a Super Bowl victory. He has shown flashes, but he relies on his athletic ability too much, and that will start to diminish in the next 2 or 3 years. He’s already 27 or 28 and somewhat comparable to McNabb minus the pocket passing. I don’t want either of them. I’d rather have a true pocket passer and not someone who relies on scrambling to win football games. A Super Bowl winning QB is able to make all the throws. Vince and Donovan can’t.
VY is already an above average QB
In terms of passer rating, he ranked fifth in the league in 2010 among QBs with at least 8 starts. I say who cares how he turned in a top 5 performance as long as he can do it again. He went to the Pro Bowl for the 2nd time in 2009 with an average passer rating and above average rushing production for a QB.
Teams win SBs, not QBs by themselves, and QBs are often labeled as guys who can’t win the big one until they do. Prior to 2009, many believed that no QB under 6’2" would play on a championship team. McNabb and VY can make more throws (and at a better rate of completion) than, say, Trent Dilfer.
I don't mind it...
… if we draft an athletic QB similar to Young, who we can spend a couple years developing and setting the system in place for the new QB to succeed.
Go Nevada Wolf Pack!
For instance, think of this package...
QB: Vince Young
RB: AP
WR: Harvin and Webb
RB/WR: Colin Kaepernick
You can run so many looks and different plays out of it as you tutor Kaepernick until he takes over.

I like the plan with Kapernick or any good developmental guy
Young
AP
Rice
Harvin
Webb- WR/KR
Rookie late QB ( Kapernick, McElroy, Ponder, Stanzi)
Old veteran QB for back-up
IT IS TIME TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO DRAFT A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK.
No more old guys. No more excuses. No more passing up our own great drafted quarterback.

And we can draft an OT at #12 just for Marksp18

I'm all for it
It’s always good when our team brings in more talent, and VY is one talented guy. Even if he disappoints to some extent, he has more upside than the lot and isn’t likely to make the same mistakes. Everybody has to grow up sometime, and the worst thing about VY so far has been a lack of immaturity.
It’s sort of like adopting a dog from the pound after someone else gave into premature frustration after investing so much time and energy while it was a puppy. The adopting owner gets this great dog that has gotten over whatever issues frustrated the first owner plus a little extra loyalty for getting a second chance.
