E.J. named to pro bowl!!

E.J Henderson named to his first pro bowl. He is well deserving. Congratulations E.J.!!

In both 2008 and 2009, Vikings LB E.J. Henderson looked to be in Pro Bowl form until season-ending injuries derailed his chances to earn a 1st-time trip to the all-star game.

But now, following a 2010 season in which he tied for the team lead with 3 INTs and finished 2nd on the team in tackles with 139, Henderson is making the trip to Hawaii for his 1st-ever, and well-deserved, Pro Bowl.

One of the Vikings captains from 2008-2010, Henderson has led the team in tackles 3 times over the last 6 years (2004-125; 2006-142; 2007-155–career high). He missed most of the 2008 season due to injury and was leading the team with 100 tackles
in 2009 before a season-ending injury. Along with his tackles, Henderson has 13.5 sacks for his career, which ranks 4th all-time among Vikings linebackers.

Henderson joins Adrian Peterson and Antoine Winfield as Vikings going to this year’s all-star game. Kevin Williams was also named to the team but will not be able to attend.

Congratulations E.J.!

An absolutely unbelievable story

I remember when the people commentating the Arizona game were saying that injury could end him career and that he would probably never regain form. But he came back better than ever. No one in the history of the NFL had ever had to rehab from that injury, so the Vikings training staff had to create a protocol that is now named “The Henderson Protocol.” E.J. Henderson had definitely entered the ranks of the toughest people in the NFL along with people like Jim Marshall, Jack Youngblood, and, of course, Brett Favre. Congratulations E.J. I don’t think anyone has undergone such a monumental task of having their femur replaced by a titanium rod and come back to have a pro-bowl season.

What EJ did was truly amazing.

Which is exactly why EJ should have been named “Come Back Player of the Year”
Instead the NFL thought they should reward a convicted felon with the award.

Vick didn't come back from anything...

other than his own stupidity.

You should not get an award for that, it’s called being a man.

Hell... By the logic the NFL is using here...

I should get an award for NOT fighting dogs in my spare time.

Quiet and productive

The great thing about EJ is he doesn’t make a big fuss over himself. Those figures from 2004,2006 and 2007 are nothing to dismiss. I think most teams would be happy to have a guy doing that kind of job. He puts maximum effort into every down, every play, and every year. I remember several times I seen him leap over the OL over the other team to make a tackle even. He reminds me a lot of London Fletcher. He does his job, he does it well and doesn’t receive much recognition for it, even this year from coming back from a possible career ending injury, but he doesn’t let it bother him. I hope he can continue to be productive and be a positive influence for the Vikings.

Good job EJ.

It's too bad he had to be an alternate...

But this should be the ice breaker necessary to ensure he makes the pro bowl next year.

Greenway deserves it as well.

But in a conference where he has to compete with Terrell Suggs, Demarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, James Harrison, Cameron Wake and others.. it is hard to break through.

It’s the same reason EJ had issues getting voted to the Pro Bowl, he is a quiet workhorse.
