He will change the offense while retaining continuity
Bevell is a student of the game of football.
I laugh out of disgust every time I see someone say he was a yes man for Chilly.
In the coaching ranks of the NFL, as an offensive coordinator under a head coach who went off
the deep end, you ride it out as a yes man or your out of a job.
Now the space cadet coach is gone and you end up with a coach who trusts you to handle things.
So you finish the season not trying to make to many adjustments and now comes the time where
you can start creating your own playbook.
Once again Bevell is a student of the game and knowing he has Webb for sure coming back,
he can start to tailor the offense toward a much more athletic QB not that Webb will be the for sure starter,
but the likely QB trend ....less pocket , more rollouts to utilize that type of skill set to the fullest.
But even with that, he will retain a good share of the current playbook that is applicable to the
new look and lets face it, there is a lot of good things that can transfer from the west coast style to another.
Bevell is his own man and he is a highly intelligent man and coaches and owners know this.
