I am curious to know why this isn’t be strongly advanced as a template for a Metrodome upgrade
Architecturally the stadiums are very similar and even though the BC Lions moved out to a temporary site it seems possible that the Vikings could play around any renovations. It was renovated in two phases
The interior was upgraded – boxes, washrooms, seating , structural support for the new roof over 16 months, whilst tenancy continued
The new roof was added.
With a template in place this could be sped up. And this type of roof has been successfully used in Frankfurt, Germany where they get a lot of snow and is now being used for the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland. Based on CDN$ prices it shouldn’t cost more than $400m
