Let's Bring Back Our Old Friend, Darren Sharper
With many questions floating around about the legitimacy of the Vikings' secondary as well as the injuries that have been hindering Husain Abdullah, Tyrell Johnson, and Jamarca Sanford, the team should consider bringing in a seasoned vet that has proven to be a game-changer. Who other is there to fill this role than Darren Sharper?
Darren is a five-time Pro bowler. In the 2010 probowl he started alongside Jared Allen, Kevin Williams, and Adrian Peterson to anchor the NFC team to a nail-biting 34-41 loss. Mr. Sharper has tallied 63 career INTs, 11 of which were returned for touchdowns. He has the track record that proves he is a ball hawk with a vengeance and an itch to play again. Perhaps Darren will fit in nicely with a Pagac-run defensive strike.
At this point in the season, what do we have to lose? I say we get after it, yo.

SKOL VIKINGS!
There is a reason why no one has signed Sharper
The same reason why we shouldn’t, the game has passed him by.
The man is one of the hardest hitting safeties in da league
There’s no reason not to bring him in.

I tweeted Sharper tonight and he answered back
Said he’s not interested, suggested we call Paul Krause

The suggestion kind of undoes the "rebuilding" approach that I like to see
…but if putting Sharper on the squad is what it takes to dump Johnson, then I’m all in.

Some one is questioning our secondary?
That’s just insane! People should know our secondary is bad already. As for picking up Sharper let me lay some of this knowledge on ya.
Sharper is a high risk player he used to have high reward, high risk plays. Now if you have an offense that can score you can have db’s that hawk on the ball and every once in a while give up a big play. Since our offense is in fact offensive we don’t have that ability. Not sure if that makes sense but until we can air mail td’s in like Brees or Rodgers we’re going to need a much more disciplined secondary.
Putting Ponder in isn't the question, it's the answer.
No to Sharper...
The reason we got rid of him in the first place is he is not the kind of guy that fits into our defensive scheme.
There is a reason why he dropped from an average of 5 picks a season prior to Frazier taking over as DC to 1 pick in 2008. He had more tackles under Frazier, but he is better suited as a ball hawk than someone covering half the field in our 2-deep safety scheme.
I don't want Sharper back...
…but I think there also might have been a problem with Frazier’s scheme. Among other things he seemed to stack the field with guys who could get an interception even if the ball got wedged in their facemask.

o-kee-do-kee, and chilly too, rrright? although, i WOULD like to see this guy
brought back for entertainment value…

warcraft, you are my guitar hero !!!
This just gets funnier every time I see it.
Perhaps it is just me having a different perspective as I get older, but I feel the kind of frustration captured by the words, “yeah, he was great, but oh what might have been if only….” about Moss, and also about Peterson — words I never thought about Page, Eller, Tark, Foreman, AC or CC or Smith.
I never studied Jerry Rice’s game much. But I still firmly believe that no WR in NFL history has ever dominated the field and the excitement of the fans the way Moss did.

THAT IS A DISGUSTING ACT

and yet he is only mimmicking what the packer fans actually do to visiting teams
when they leave the stadium at lambaeu field after a game…they line up and moon the team bus.
that is why i liked this antic so much. it has a “back” story. tony dungy even came out in moss’ defense in light of all the criticism randy took and the comparisons to the sharpie incedent, the cell phone thing, and the trend of the other wr’s in the league. randy rocks in my book (most of the time).
