I'm going to post this, even though it's something that really doesn't need to be posted, and something that doesn't apply to a lot of you out there. It is, however, something I'm putting here based on the events of Sunday evening, which some of you were present for and some of you were not.

One of the tenets that we've long held around here is that everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of fan affiliation. However, once you decide that it's okay to crap on our proverbial floor, you're no longer welcome here. Am I quick to ban people? Yep, I certainly am. But that's because I value this site for what it is, and that is a haven for Minnesota Vikings fans. There are people out there that, apparently, think that that's a bad idea. Oh, well. . .that's not a me problem, or an us problem. . .that's a them problem.

In keeping with that, I ask that you apply that same philosophy to the other communities across SB Nation. Here at DN, we're family. . .anywhere else on the NFL side of the network, you're a guest. Do not go crapping on the floor at someone else's house. . .and, if you do, don't expect Ted or Eric or myself to come rallying to your defense. It won't happen.

Yes, this season is going to be a rough one for the Minnesota Vikings. . .and, apparently, some communities feel that it's a wonderful idea to encourage folks to come over here and act in a disrespectful manner. (You know, in between whining and crying and pissing and moaning and bitching and complaining about how "mean" and "disrespectful" yours truly might be to them and their fan base. People whining about a lack of respect encouraging disrespectful behavior. . .ironic, no?)

Bottom line: Do not go to other communities and act like an idiot, and certainly don't encourage people to do so.

When this team was having success in 2008 and 2009, we didn't pull that kind of garbage. Why? Because we're better than that. We've always been better than that, we are better than that, and we'll always be better than that. We know that we can win with class. . .and, during times like this when things are tough for our team, we can sure as hell lose with class, too.

Remember that before you make an attempt to go and troll.

But, like I said, I don't expect that to be an issue with the folks that make up our community.
