The Vikings and Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf are very pleased with today’s discussion with Governor Dayton. We are appreciative of the Governor’s willingness to move the issue forward this fall and the interest by legislative leaders to work collaboratively with all parties toward a final solution.
As we knew the Governor would be making a statement to the media this afternoon following the conclusion of his various stadium-related meetings, we felt we should withhold comment, out of respect to the Governor, until he spoke to the media first.
Today’s constructive conversation was a continuation of several positive stadium developments in the last few days. The Vikings are committed to doing whatever we can, along with our local partner Ramsey County, the Legislature, Governor, our fans and the citizens of Minnesota to finalize a viable stadium proposal and begin construction as quickly as possible.
From a press release sent out by the Minnesota Vikings via Director of Corporate Communications Jeff Anderson (@andersonj on Twitter)
If we can find more details on today's meeting between the Governor and the team, we'll pass them along to you.

Basically the NFL VP Execs said to them
Get it resolved on your time table or we’ll get it resolved our way.
Thus this recent action is all a result of Minnesota controlling their destiny with the Vikings.
I don’t think Minnesota can afford a competitive bid situation for the Vikings to relocate while the legislative and governing bodies are still stuck in the crapper and reading the newspaper.
Any failure of support for the stadium or lack of real progress when the Metrodome lease expires means a ticking time bomb for the NFL to find a better location FOR THE OBVIOUS FACT THAT MINNESOTA IS NOT WILLING TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY AND TELL EVERYONE TO GET THEIR HANDS OFF ON THE purple AND gold.
A competitive bid situation could easily add 250-500 million dollars to the price, something that the Viking Owners are not going to pay for while the MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE is NOT MAKING THIS A PRIORITY. Anything that makes this deal 33% more expensive will royally piss off all MINNESOTAN’s and VIKING’s FANS for a SITUATION OUT OF CONTROL, BEING TAXED MORE, AND possible LOSS of the VIKINGS.
loss of the vikings will have many upset and put EVERYONE in MN STATE HOUSE & SENATE with a TARGET ON THEIR BACKS AFTER THE FACT and UNELECTABLE for their next term.
in short, the legislature is taking things for granted until it really has to address the situation and get off the pot. If it is not on their agenda, then NFL can tell any city that the VIKINGS can be on THEIR AGENDA.
I think DAYTON gets the message. The previous governor PAWLENTY can go back under his rock and the STONE AGE for dropping the ball on this matter. How can HE JUSTIFY BEING AN REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE for PRESIDENT? HE should do us all a favor, drop out of the race and dont bother showing up at the NEW stadium.
( End of RANT ).

The Golden Goose.
The Vikings are like the goose which produces the golden eggs. The legislature is like the farmer. The legislature wants the “golden eggs” but is not willing to care for the goose. Killing the goose removes any chance of reaping any “golden eggs.”

Never in my life.
I’ve never seen a story in the news get so much coverage and have so much of it be hot and cold. One day it went great. The next day there could be a stalemate. The next day goes better than that and so on. What a headache!! We all need to pledge to go buy new jerseys as soon as this dumb bill gets passed. SKOL!
The "Lockout" would like to have a word with you
Putting Ponder in isn't the question, it's the answer.
SKOL!!!
