Arizona Cardinals At Minnesota Vikings - Fourth Quarter Open Thread

Big sequence at the end of the third quarter, as the Arizona Cardinals went for it on fourth and 1 in their own territory, allowing the Vikings to take over at the Arizona 47 on the first play of the fourth quarter.

The Cardinals did get into the end zone to cut the deficit to 28-10, but the Vikings answered back thanks to a pass from Donovan McNabb to Devin Aromashodu for 60 yards. That put them into position for a field goal from Ryan Longwell, putting the Vikings ahead by three touchdowns again.

The field goal was Longwell's eighth of the year in 8 attempts, and he has hit 94 of his last 98 field goal attempts from 45 yards or less. He has also hit 16 in a row going back to last season.

As we start the fourth quarter, the Minnesota Vikings have a 31-10 lead over the Arizona Cardinals. Join us for the fourth quarter of play right here!

but I’m going to have to join the rest of you haters, I think it’s time to pull him in favor of Webb or Ponder.

His throws are bad, there has to be something wrong with his hand or wrist or arm, all those years in Philly he never threw this bad, there’s gotta be something wrong with him.

How so?

How do you put up 28 in the first quarter, then only 2 FG’s the rest of the way?

Most teams aren’t going to let them go up like that. Against most other teams, this would be a loss with continued poor play in the 2nd half. I want to see them play one freakin’ game for a whole 60 minutes.

Depends on

In my mind, there’s a “smart pick” and a “sexy pick.”

The smart pick would be Matt Kalil. The sexy pick (i.e. the pick to get the fans excited because they can watch his highlight reels) would be Alshon Jeffery.

I say offensive line first

because a great WR isn’t going to help the offensive line play better, but an improved line could help the receivers do better. Plus, young, starting caliber linemen are rarely available in free agency, but there are usually a few good WR’s to go after.

Kalil seems pretty damn good. We need O-line to help Ponder develop but even more so to give Peterson running lanes.

The only problem with having a Defense/Run based team

is that we get wiped against truly great passing games because they can catch up in one long bomb. Or get ahead just as quickly. Our grind-it-out monsters of the midway style isn’t helpful against truly elite offenses. :(

A win is a win...

… even more so knowing that Berrian didn’t play. Now all we need is for Ponder or Webb to show Frasier that they are at least as good as McNabb now and I will be a happy bunny. The long pass over the middle was awful… yes it got there… but it was a s l o w delivery that another team would have picked off. The total lack of sight when Harvin was standing in the endzone is simply inexcusable, and the… erm… I think it was a pass in the 4th quarter which barely went 10 yards before hitting the floor was terrible. McNabb should be allowed to find another team for the rest of the season, and possibly of his starting career.

Didn't see the game, only highlights

but it seemed like this to me:

It took Frazier five games to figure out that keeping the ball out of McNabb’s hands and IN Peterson’s hands was a good idea.

The Cardinals can’t tackle for sh#t. AP is a beast and all that, but the Cards looked pretty terrible.

Kolb had a terrible game, and he’s having a terrible year. But he’s still miles better than McNabb, who can’t seem to get a 200 yard game to save his life (or our season).

McNabb sucks and this win should not stop the Webb or Ponder talk…in the least.

We won is spite of McNabb, not because of him. So tell me why he’s STILL starting!?

And for good measure: MCNABB SUCKS!!!!
