Your Week 10 Fantasy Football Sleeper Of The Week
Well, our pick for last week was okay. . .not great, but okay. Chris Ivory got more carries for the New Orleans Saints last week against the Atlanta Falcons (15) than Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles combined (8 for Thomas, 4 for Sproles), and managed 67 yards for his efforts. Not great, but a solid effort for a guy as a bye week replacement. He'll probably get worked more into the lineup for the Saints as the weeks progress, but that doesn't do you a whole lot of good this week.
No, this week, we're going to go with a guy at the wide receiver spot that could be able to help you against a fairly porous pass defense.
In the last two games, Cowboys' wide receiver Laurent Robinson has taken full advantage of an injury that has sidelined Miles Austin. He has five catches and a touchdown in each of his last two games, including a 70-yard touchdown catch against the Philadelphia Eagles a couple of weeks ago and a 6-yard scoring catch against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Austin is going to be out a couple more weeks, and Robinson will be getting the start across from Dez Bryant as a result.
The Bills' pass defense isn't very good, as they are allowing 260.4 passing yards a day, putting them 26th in the NFL in that category. Playing on the fast track of Jerryworld, it looks like something that Tony Romo can take advantage of, and it could be beneficial for you to pick up Robinson at this point.
According to Yahoo!, Robinson is currently owned in 44% of all their leagues, which means there's a chance he's available in yours, too. Go have a look and see if you could use an upgrade at wide receiver. Keep in mind, because of the strangeness of the NFL schedule, there are no byes this week, but you can always upgrade somewhere on your roster, I'm sure.

So Vikings orientated.
Now I love this site, but this is getting ridiculous.
I dislike Fantasy football, I like it as an idea, but I dislike the power it now has. Arian Foster had a real point when he tweeted the MRI of his Hamstring. And the NFL’s posting of Jamaal Charles on it’s front page with saying the game isn’t over.
Now I have no problem if the you post fantasy football if it includes VIKINGS news, but in the 327 words posted above there is not one word on the Minnesota Vikings. Hell, there isn’t even mention of a team the Vikings play this month. We play New Orleans in 35 days, but I’m sure I will be expecting the next 4 weeks to have 4 more posts about other teams.
Now I’m not going to stop reading the site, the dedication and quality of the writers is excellent, but I do hope you guys won’t have sold out as much in a years time. I would not be surprised if there were 5 posts a week about randomly sponsored things a week.
God I pray you guys get back to the Vikings soon.
I understand what you're saying
But here’s the thing.
This is a Vikings’ site, yes. . .however, the post is for a fantasy football sleeper of the week. Generally, people on a Vikings’ site are going to have most of the viable Vikings options. Hell, I’m starting Kyle Rudolph at TE this week, and Ted has copped to drafting Jim Kleinsasser in his fantasy league every year.
The fantasy football post, by its nature, has to have more of a league-wide scope. If it was just the Vikings, how many times could I throw out a Devin Aromashodu or a Greg Camarillo or even Kyle Rudolph before people say, “You know, this doesn’t help my fantasy team one damn bit, you homer?”

But Chris/Mr Gates/Gonzo
18 months ago this site was honest, obnoxiously pro-Vikings and the BEST thing to read as they had my opinion.
NOW, for every honest post there are many sponsored posts which seem to go against what this blog was started for, a VIKINGS blog for VIKINGS fans.
Guys, I love the real Vikings insight and the pride you have with your own posts, the way as the site has grown with the Team allowing you to go to come to training camp. I’ll admit you guys are the best of the best for Fan Blogs.
My Problem is that this isn’t a Fantasy football blog, Just that’s it’s no longer a PURE Vikings blog.

One thing
Every SBNation football site does these fantasy sleeper posts (that i’ve seen, at least). Maybe you haven’t noticed but DN isn’t a stand alone blog in some random corner of the internet but it’s a part of the larger SBNation network. These sponsored posts and ads on the sidebars help keep that network going, and in turn, people like Chris and the rest of the staff can continue to be the best of the best of fan blogs.
Well that's a great argument.
I’ve expressed views, respond with a counter argument. You douche.

No, actually you're the douche
Who the hell do you think that you are that you can come on and dictate what the hell is posted on this site? And to even throw out “Now, I’m not going to stop reading this site” as if anybody gives a rats ass dude. I espcially don’t care about your thoughts on how you dislike fantasy football. It’s only one of the most popular football related activities out there.
The only “ridiculous” thing is you buddy.
Now I apologise.
The douche comment was unneeded.
But in reply to your other points; I never dictated anything, I expressed my dislike to the rise of sponsored posts which have nothing to do with the Minnesota Vikings. Surely in your own small brain can realise it is out of place for a Vikes blog.
“it’s only one of the most popular football related activities” Well isn’t that depressing that more people are sitting at home playing a game by clicking rather than actually going outside and throwing a ball about? I bet that most FF players really don’t care for their actual results. And I dont care if it’s popular, the problem is that I don’t see the need for it in non-related vikings posts in a Vikings blog.
I Love These Posts!
Not sure where all the hate is coming from, but I look forward to this post every week. I’m always curious to see what Chris comes up with for his sleeper of the week. I will say, with all the fantasy analysts out there at ESPN, Yahoo and CBS, I’m never expecting anything ground-breaking here, but I find it a fun and interesting read non-the-less.
SKOL Vikings!
Funny
I didn’t even realize these Sleeper of the Week posts were sponsored. I just assumed Chris did them because a lot of the community here does fantasy football and he just wanted to talk about it.
Same here
I run the Adblocker extension anyway, so I don’t see any ads what-so-ever…on any website.
SKOL Vikings!
ingram is back in line so ...
ivory goes down the depth chart to non active more than likely teams dont run 4 rbs in the active 45.
willing to bet.
ponder has a closer game to the number 1 qb than ivory does to the number 1 rb. for this week.
Great Pickup
Here are a few others I’ve grabbed in some of my leagues:
1. Earl Bennet: After last Sunday he made Culter look good. He may not have been on too many people’s radar since he’s been out awhile with an injury, but most of here in the NFC North know who he is.
2. Denarius Moore: Can’t use him this week as he played last Thursday, but after 2 weeks with Carson Palmer, this rookie is his go-to guy. Jacoby Ford went down with an injury last Thursday as well.
SKOL Vikings!
Taking your advice!
Lets see how Mr Robinson does!
2011 Vikings, keeping the liquor industry in the green ALL YEAR LONG!
Im loving your advice already!!!
2011 Vikings, keeping the liquor industry in the green ALL YEAR LONG!
CRAP!
Just when I had decided to play Julio Jones (vs New Orleans) and leave Robinson on bench, you name him the sleeper!
Didn’t want to do this but HELP PL:
Options are: 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex
RB: MJD and Mendenhall
WR: Stevie Johnson and Brandon Lloyd
Flex: Daniel Thomas (RB vs skins) or Julio Jones (vs NO) or Laurent Robinson (vs BUF)
Not inclined to play Mike Williams (TB vs Houston) or Torrey Smith (Bal vs SEA).
Also: If you dont want to read about Fantasy Football, don’t click on the damn link! How hard is that?
I have Maclin/Nicks/Fitz
with Laurent on bench. Nicks is now going to play…but I HAD Robinson in. I just feel something compelling me to bench my cash cow in Nicks. Help?
