Vikings disappoint their littlest fan.

EDIT: Thanks to purpledork for putting this up. It's okay, little girl. . .you're young. Eventually, it won't even affect you any more.

Reminds me of me!!

Except instead of a cute little girl; I’m old with a spare tire around my waist, male and not so cute.

Well little girl,

You experience what we old Vikings fans experience pretty much every year. However, we are still fans and always will be.

Cute Kid

I have been telling my boys for years that being a Vikings fan makes you stronger. If you can handle this, you can handle anything that life throws you

Dear Little Girl

Welcome to what we like to call in Vikings Land ‘Wednesday’. This is nothing.

I feel her pain.

I wanted to do the same thing after watching that game.

Saints, Cardinals, 98, Nelson at the goal line,

Do I even need to go on?

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, it's just that your's is stupid.

98 was the worst for me. It ALMOST made me stop being a Vikings fan.

That didn’t quite happen, but it made all the heartbreakers after that just a little easier to take.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!!!

don't forget Steve Young's 49 yard scramble

immortalized in a burger king commercial….that one hurt as much as ’98 for me….

I think I aged 5 years in the last 10 minutes of the saints ’09 game…

Will admit, I am a newfan here. Could have been Saints fan (6 yrs in New Orleans) but did not fall for them...first year in MN and boom...Purple Fan

That was 3 years ago. I know about some of the history you good folks are talking about but obviously for me Saints defeat was the one I am still not over. Though Sean Peyton losing his knee this year is a consolation :)

If I remember

it took me about, oh, 15 years from where she is now to finally have it stop affecting me in EXACTLY the way it affected her. Lots of screaming, yelling, general psychic confusion, sometimes unintentional self-harm.

If she's lucky the Vikes will break her

Early and she can spend her Sundays being happy and productful. She sounds like a lifer tho. Pretty sad.

“they are all the same” It’s taken some adults 50 years and they haven’t figured that out.

So exactly how old do you have to be to get to the point at which is won’t even affect you any more? I’m still waiting, and I ain’t feeling all that young any more.

Well, let's see, in 1975

I cried for two days after the Hail Mary game. I was 8.

In 1998, I was an instructor pilot at Ft. Rucker and damn near gave my student an unsat the following Monday I was so pissed.

In 2009, I shrugged my shoulders and was bummed out for three hours. Then I was okay.

So, I was 42 when I finally swallowed enough agony that it no longer made me sick.

Hmmm.

It took me six months to be able to sit down and rewatch that New Orleans game, but you’ve given me hope.

Oh, don't get me wrong

I have never re-watched any of those games. Ever. And I never will.

So much for having hope.

Now I feel like busting out like that poor little girl.

Would it be wrong to...

…exploit this poor little girl’s sadness, because I just had an idea.

I’m moved by this girl’s passion and emotion over the Vikings’ loss to Green Bay. She put to tears what many of us have been feeling for over a year. On the chance that Zygi Wilf might be watching, I’m tempted to do something that is ethically questionable. I could perhaps plead the insanity defense. After all, I am getting a little tired of popping lithium every morning to get over this deep Vikings-induced funk.

Here’s what I’m thinking: Maybe towards the end of the clip, I could dub in something that sounds like a little girl’s whisper to her mommy. It would go something like this, “Mommy, will Mr. Wilf go get us an offensive line in the off season?” What owner could resist making that little girl’s hopes come true? Seriously. It just… might…work.

Would that be so wrong? More to the point, might it work? Man alive, we need a better offensive line…and so many other things too.
