I went to the second Viking game of my life today and was absolutely appalled at the fan behavior while Darrius Heyward-Bey was lying on the field, players gathered around him in prayer.  Some section in the lower bowl repeatedly attempted to start and finally succeeded in starting the wave.  The majority of the stadium participated, pausing occasionally to applaud when Heyward-Bey was lifted onto the stretcher.

This young man was lying there, his life and career in jeopardy and what did he hear?  The wave.  There's a time for the wave and this was definitely not it.  Absolutely embarrassing.  I thought we were better than that.

I know that the vast majority of the people here were not at the game and that this rant will not reach the ears of those that participated in the wave, but I just needed to vent.  I was very dismayed to see behavior like that when someone was so badly injured.
