The Kansas City Chiefs have released offensive tackle Jared Gaither just days after he committed a costly false start penalty in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 6-foot-9, 340-pound Gaither was once viewed as a cornerstone offensive lineman in Baltimore, where he started five postseason games. But injuries kept him out last season, and he was unable to reclaim the same form from early in his career with Kansas City.
