After the Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in last year's SuperBowl, I posted a picture on this blog roughly akin to this...
...and congratulated the Pack on winning the title. I felt as if I was being a good sport, and wouldn't necessarily change my post if I had the opportunity.
However, at the time, I was amazed at the anti-Packer vitriol coming from readers of the Daily Norseman. While I respected GB, many of you seemed to despise them. While I don't know if I will ever hate the Pack, I can finally say now that I understand what all the "fuss" was about.
Simply put, I (like many of you) are now sick of everything Green and Yellow. I'm sick of the "championship belt". I'm sick of them never losing. I'm sick of the constant arguments with my brother (a Packer-Backer) where he knows full well he'll win because the Packers are the best team in the league. I'm just plain sick of it all.
Of course, the only way to silence those those high praises is to knock them off their high horse, something I would just about die to see the Vikings do on Monday night. Do I want to intentionally injure Rodgers or play dirty to slow them down? Absolutely not. I just want us to beat them fair and square. After a season full of crap in 2010 and a horrific start to this year, I'm sick of "GB Fever". It's time to start putting up a fight.
