I know, I know that in itself is a headline.
Anyhow the story was about the Colts possibly losing out on Luck by winning out. There was an update to the story where a poster stated that perhaps the Jags would lay down to keep Luck out of the division.
This got me to thinking if the Bears lose this week to the Packers and have really nothing to play for next week would they also considering doing this to keep the Vikings out of the #1 spot and by doing so may also keep the Vikings out of the #2 spot and losing out on Luck, Kalil, or the bounty of pick if we trade down.
If the Bears happened to do this and screw the Vikings out of the first pick they would replace the Packers and Cowboys as my most hated team.
Of course the 49ers could do the same to the Rams but this could cause them to lose the #2 seed to the Saints so I don't see that happening. When it's all said and done the Rams could be sitting in the #1 spot with the Colts #2 and the Vikings #3. This would NOT BE GOOD.
With the Rams on the hook for so much to Bradford I could see them trying to trade that pick to the highest bidder and the Colts taking Kalil (was it just me or did their O-line look even worse than ours) leaving us with table scraps.
Now I have been on record saying if the Vikings somehow get the top pick they should take Luck and trade Ponder and my case got stronger with Barkley staying at USC and forgoing the draft. Ponders value went up by that decision alone. A lot of fellow DNers make some very good points why to trade down and I guess I would be alright with that as well.
The bottom line is if all the cards fall in line ie Colts win next week and we lose to the Redskins this week the Bears better not screw us over and lose to us on purpose.
Well this is my first fan post so I hope it doesn't have to many errors. SKOL
