Mistral Raymond Nominated For Pepsi Rookie Of The Week
Our third and final award nominee for this week is none other than Minnesota Vikings' safety Mistral Raymond, who is among five nominees for this week's Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award.
Raymond, one of the Vikings' sixth-round picks this season out of the University of South Florida, got his second start at safety for the Vikings on Saturday against the Washington Redskins. He made the most of it, recording six tackles and making a real veteran move by batting down Rex Grossman's Hail Mary pass in the end zone at the end of the game.
Oh, and there was that minor moment where he recorded the first Vikings' interception since Paul Krause Joey Browner Darren Sharper Jamarca Sanford got one at the end of the Arizona game, snapping a string of 298 pass attempts and 39+ quarters of football since the Vikings caught a pass thrown by the opposing quarterback.
Make sure you head on over and cast your vote for Mistral Raymond as this week's Pepsi Rookie of the Week!

I know it's early, but...
I’ll continue to keep an eye on him from the second deck endzone on Sunday. I’m not ready to deem him the next Joey Browned but the kid has good size/speed and has shown signs of good potential in his brief action.
I do think our backfield pretty much sucks, but he has shown that he’s at least got the apptitude to perform above the stink-it-up level we’ve seen most of the last couple years.

After reading his story, i really hope this kid succeeds.
Plus, he seems very aggressive on the field and I often see him involved with tackles (just from the TV broadcast, anyway).
I hope he can really turn into something special.
