Adrian Peterson done with surgery
"We’ve received word that Adrian underwent successful knee surgery with Dr. James Andrews and is now resting comfortably. Adrian is in our thoughts, we wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him when he returns to Minnesota."
-Leslie Frazier
This is great news for all Viking fans, although I'm sure we expected nothing less from Dr. Andrews (who has lived up to the hype once again)
There has been a lot of speculation as to when he will be able to come back. Some, like Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman, believe the man known as Purple Jesus will be 100% by game one next year. Others have compared Peterson to players with similar injuries who have taken up to a full year to recover. Much has been made of the determination of Adrian, and I have no doubt that he will give full effort to rehabbing, however "special DNA" has been chalked up as something Peterson has over players who shared a similar injury. That is something I don't buy into, if Peterson returns for the start of our 2012 season; it will be because of his dedication to greatness, not some freak gene.
Anyways regardless of how it happens, I wish him a speedy recovery. He is such a vital part of our team it could be another long season without him for even part of it

Does he need a second surgery
to repair the other ligament? Or did they fix both?
I remeber McGahee smashing his knee
I was the victim of a similar knee injury and thought this poor kid is done. I sure hope Willis gives him a call.
On the flip side I am still infuriated that AD was even playing

I know the shouda coulda stuff
But the fact remains he was coming off an ankle injury. We had nothing to gain but keeping this guy safe and riasing our draft value. So why and who decided to play him? For a consecutive 1000 yd season? My guess is if the Colts were in a playoff hunt that Manning would be finding his way into the last couple games. This was a stupid move that someone needs to swing for. We had a reason to keep him out -we were going nowhere in a meaningless game.
Sorry, but I am still PO ed A total waste we may be flipping the tab for. You pay a guy that much -protect him!
