Stumbled across this while I was perusing NFL.com. It is the expected Franchise money by position.
Jason La Canfora states that these are the expected values of Franchise Tag contracts compiled by the NFLPA, if franchise tags hold up next season. This should help provide insight into the discussion of whom the Vikings tag this offseason. The players that have been most frequently discussed and the cost of their expected contracts are:
Sydney Rice (WR) - $11.3 million
Chad Greenway (LB) - $10 million
Ray Edwards (DE) - $12.9 million
I think this is even more reason not to tag Edwards, as he would be the most expensive option, among other factors previously discussed. So, armed with this additional information, what do my fellow Norseman say about the pending Vikings Franchise tag.
