With the potential lockout and the NFL draft looming closer, the major questions for the Vike fans is one that has been on our mind since Danute Culpepper was the starter: where the heck can we find a franchise QB?
Let's be honest- Tarvaris Jackson was never a contender, despite Brad Childress' pip dreams for his pet project. Don't get me wrong, I think Jackson has potential, but he as proven he isn't the short or long term solution in Minnesota. I jumped with joy when Gus Frerrote got the start after T-Jack was hurt, I really did. Ever since then you may have noticed a trend in Minnesota QBs- You've gotta be over 38 to get the start. I was sold on the Brett Favre idea before the 09 season even started, and jumped for joy at his success. Like many fans, I prayed for his return in 10, and then bashed my head into a wall for the next 16 weeks.
So now, we're back at the drawing board, and with so many options available at QB for the next season (I'm assuming there next season means this fall) all us Vikings fan have to do is pray we finally pick a keeper.
