Yes, folks, this is one of the most exciting days of the year on the sports calender, as March Madness is officially underway.
Right now, we have two games taking place in Regional action. . .in the East region, the Clemson Tigers and the West Virginia Mountaineers have gone into the locker room at halftime tied at 40, while time is winding down in the Southeast Regional opener with the Butler Bulldogs (last year's national runner-up) leading the Old Dominion Monarchs by a score of 22-21 with time winding down in the first half.
The Clemson/West Virginia game is on CBS, while the Butler/Old Dominion game is on TruTV. Games will also be shown on TBS and TNT as the first couple of rounds progress.
(Man. . .remember when all of the games were just on CBS and CBS would do that thing where they'd put four games on the screen at once and you couldn't really tell what was going on in any of them, but it was still awesome because you were watching four basketball games at the same time?)
Even though Minnesota's college team didn't make this year's tournament, we'll be tracking the Big Ten teams over at SB Nation Minnesota, and throwing in stuff for the rest of the tournament as well.
So, if you want to talk about the action or just lament about how you've already had to throw your brackets into the fireplace because (insert lower seed here) knocked off (insert higher seed here) when you had them going to the (Sweet 16/Elite Eight/Final Four) here, feel free to do so!
