Amobi Okoye
John Mcclain from the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Amobi Okoye's future in Houston looks like it's going to be slim to none and he might not even make the team since they are switching to a 3-4 defense. How would you guys feel about bringing him in to replace Pat Williams? Even though he's already in his 5th season Okoye is still really young. He's only 23 years old. He was great in college and hasn't been spectacular in the pros. He definitely hasn't lived up to his hype but he'd be a interesting prospect to take a look at. Maybe he could learn a thing or two with a change of scenery and playing beside one of the best DT in the league.

Let Karl Dunbar get a hold of him
He’ll get to his potential.
He’s a guy that a rebuilding team like ours could stand to make a run at.

I really liked Okoye when he was coming out of Louisville
I say he’s worth having his tires kicked.
"I am patient with stupidity but not with those who are proud of it."
Tires kicked?
I wouldn’t use that phrase with a 23 year old… he’s as young as some of the guys we could draft. Plus he has NFL experience.
Ah, the failed attempt at returning Moss home. It was like '98 and '09 were about to make sweet, sweet love and give us a glorious '10 child.

With all the victims of teams switching to the 3-4
there are a lot of players who would fit in a 4-3 that are getting cut, similar to what happened with Aaron Kampmann with the Packers last year.
That said, Okoye has been very unimpressive so far. However, I think that our coaching staff could maybe get something out of him. With all the players getting cut by 3-4 teams, there will be a lot of options for us. Okoye is one of them, and I think Vernon Gholstan is another to take a look at. If we can get them for a low risk price, they’re definitely worth looking at.
He's 23

He was 19 when he was drafted. Cut him some slack.
Wow, seriously? 19? That’s crazy.

Yeah, He was the youngest player ever drafted. He actually came to college at age 15 which is ridiculous. I hope we do give him a shot if he gets cut.
He went into college at 15?!
Jesus, I was a sophmore in high school at that age!!!!!!! Is this guy wicked intelligent or something? That could be a plus…

Okoye
Well, a lot depends on how good he looks in a thong…. Whoops, wrong thread, mind still stuck on the Lingerie Football Leage :)
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
If we don't cover DT in the draft
I’d definitely be up for giving him a look. He was a stud in college, and playing next to Kevin Williams (whether for 12 or 16 games) tends to make people look pretty good.

Maybe...
we could use FA to work the D-line, giving us more room in the draft to attend to other needs.
…like O-line.

Did some research.
This guy could- rephrase, SHOULD- be someone, should he be made available, that we pursue in FA. He didn’t look great in Houston, sure. But remember the last time we picked up a guy for our interior D-line, he was some undrafted second stringer. That guy turned out OK. I say all steam ahead on this.
