UPDATE:

Ponder's now officially been invited to Radio City Music Hall.

Good for him. More to confirm he might be going in the 1st. Keyword though is might.

Ok so everyone who is a regular here knows, or even if you're not and can't guess from my name, I'm a huge fan of Ponder. I've had the pleasure of being able to watch him progress as a QB while I've been at FSU and even had the pleasure of meeting him once around campus and wished him luck when he got drafted in purple!! In any case, I wanted to bring this up since I hadn't seen a post about it. This past week Christian Ponder worked out for some of the top executives for our front office; Including Leslie Frazier, Bill Musgrave, Craig Johnson and Rick Speilman.

So we can add Ponder to list of QBs who have worked out and met with the Vikings. The most telling thing for me about the visit though, the top 4 in terms of drafting a QB; our HC, Off C, QB Coach and quasi-GM all attended the workout which lasted a while. Judd Zulgad also pointed something out to me which makes me feel really good about the visit:

The Vikings aren't making a point of sending coach Leslie Frazier or other top executives to the Pro Days of top quarterbacks.

For instance, Frazier and vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman weren't at Cam Newton's Pro Day at Auburn -- the Vikings held a private workout with Newton on Wednesday -- and were believed to have only one scout at Jake Locker's Pro Day on Wednesday in Washington. Locker also had a private workout for the Vikings.

Sounds pretty good for Ponder, I'm glad he has the big guns from our FO coming down to Tallahassee to look at him, kind of reminds me of when Chilly came down to look at Harvin. I am actually going to be going to a dinner for FSU alumni and boosters and am going to have a chance to meet and chat with Jimbo Fisher. I'm going to see if I can pry any information from him on Ponder and NFL teams, who knows, maybe he gets a bit tipsy at the event and gives a bit of info out, haha!
