With all the talk about drafting a QB in the first or second round, I was hoping somebody had some insight on the value of Rhett Bomar. We liked him enough to give him a 3 year deal, so he must have some sort of potential - although I must concede that it may have been an act of desperation. If the Vikings continue the draft strategy of taking BPA and we don't take a quarterback with the picks in the first two rounds (or three, if we somehow find a way to obtain a pick) , do we have a serviceable QB in either Bomar or Webb to backup and potentially take over for the inevitable veteran signing?
I'm just trying to start some discussion on this subject since I haven't seen this scenario addressed to this point. Are we sold on any of the 2011 QB draft candidates, or do we have sufficient talent already at this position?
