not to take away from the excitement of the 1st rd just ending -- i'm actually very excited that we took Ponder at #12 and we seemingly have our answer at QB.

but, where do you think we go in Rd 2??

we could certainly go for a Safety or CB, but i'm really hoping Bruce Carter (OLB, North Carolina) will still be on the board -- and i really think he will be.  yes, LB isn't a need as much as other positions, but Carter is a monster on ST (7 blocked kicks in his career) and is a perfect fit for our defensive scheme at LB.  and while his knee injury is a concern, by all accounts he will be good to go by the beginning of the season.  even if we re-sign Leber, imagine Carter / EJ / Greenway down the road -- talk about a stud LB core.  add in Jared Allen, Kevin Williams, Guion, Robison and maybe some new guys up front, we have a great front seven lined up.

what do you think -- would you take Bruce Carter at #43 if he is available??

(by the way, not sure how we can recoup our 3rd rounder, but i'd love to figure out some way to nab Tyler Sash, assuming he won't last until the 4th...)
