I will admit, I did overreact last night when our beloved Vikes took Christian Ponder at 12. I was depressed the rest of the night and wanted Spielman fired immediately. But now that I think about it, it's not like Ponder sucks, it just wasn't the right pick at 12.

In my opinion, if we would have traded down and taken Ponder (or even Dalton or Mallett) I would have been fine with it. It just upset me that we drafted a guy who still has a lot of potential, but not at the right spot. I think Amukamara would have been a better selection. Bottom line, if we would have traded down, I would be happy to see Ponder arrive at Winter Park today. But we'll just have to wait til September 11th to see if this was a tremendous steal or a tremendous reach. Oh well, I wish Christian the best and hope to see him lead the purple and gold to a few more wins this year...and if he turns out to be a bust, at least we can get Andrew Luck next year!!
