NFL to throw some money

Towards the Vikings Staduim,Goodell is supposed to meet with Gov. Dayton and have a chat.An amount has not been determined yet,but If luck can fall our way with NFL kicking in about 300 mill could be a good day. That would mean that Minny wouldnt be involved except for roads and only blockage could come from the Arden Hills Reps.So there could be a Staduim deal in place sooner then we had hoped, but I wouldnt hold my breath quite yet.

think the NFL only contributes a max of $150 mil.

NY got $300 mil. cos it is a shared stadium…. but 150 mil would be awesome to try and get the state on board.

The only thing I worry about is i’m pretty sure that the NFL money is included in the Wilf’s stake…. can anyone confirm?

I really hope that the NFL money would be split between the 3 parties to encourage a deal!

Usually the NFL money is a very low interest loan.

One thing that bugs me

All the talk about the Vikings pledging $407 million was great until I read elsewhere that that money was factoring in a contribution from the NFL before any such money was even guaranteed. So, the Vikings’ real offer is less than $407 million — at least for now. They were literally counting their own eggs before they hatched. Not cool.

Anyone who calls the Williams Wall the 'Williams Sisters' cannot possibly be a real Vikings fan. Check back with me when Ray Edwards has gone to a Pro Bowl or is being talked about as a future Hall of Famer.

where did you read this

Rovibe,so far from what I have read The Vikes are throwing 39% of the costs, without NFL help. The norm in past years has been 150 mill but with Players and League at bargaining table hoping League decides more is good, plus would get Dallas off of Goodells back.aND iF i REMEMBER RIGHT 2009 was last year League said they would help Staduim costs.

Scroll to the entry ‘Vikings Stadium: Five days remaining’, where Seifert writes,

“…The league’s stadium financing program is tapped, and any future contribution would require approval from three-fourths of NFL owners. The Vikings’ $407 million portion of the project includes a presumed NFL portion.”

uh

Thats a presumed Portion not an actual “yea the NFL is giving us portion”
I have to go on until otherwise stated that the Vikes are paying 39% of costs by selves, rumors are just that rumors.
I just can see the Wilfs banking on a wing and prayer that the League would kick in 150 mill and setting a deal in motion that favors the Vikes in a lot of fronts.
Now what I do see is the Wilfs getting a partner and setting things in motion, and then asking for League help bypassing Minneaplois and getting a sweet deal with minny kicking 300 mill road con.
But thats just me the eternal Viking fan wishing eh.

Try again.

You’re misreading it.

The portion from the Vikings has the team ‘presuming’ that the league will contribute. I don’t know what’s so hard to grasp there.

It's a shame that this is the way they are playing it....

that $150 mill would pretty much cover all of the proposed road works, meaning that the state and county would save $75 mill each…..

saying that, the NFL and Vikings pay $400 mill for a stadium that would provide A LOT for the area, very short sighted!

presumed

1. To take for granted as being true in the absence of proof to the contrary: We presumed she was innocent.

I can presume my boss is going to give me a $5.00 an hour raise this week but I think ill wait till he gives it to me before I spend it.Not even Goodell has an idea how much is being contributed it might be 0 if 9 teams votes no.I dont see the Willfs commiting to deal using imaginary funds that havent been set yet.

NFL ploy !!!!!

Why know would they OK this agenda ? Knowing that the NFL will later cough up some cash . Cash the already gave once to Dallas ahead of us . And then to New York ahead of us . Oh ! Wait …. Now they want to appear bigger then the teams and players on sealing the deal . Take the money . Ziggy will take his allowance . Then tell Daddy Goodell to go #^#%%$@ himself !

Can i propose something that our damn state has everywhere and still complains about $

complaints about how much roads are for the stadium. A small toll on short segments that have to be built around the stadium. Sure it sucks but we deal with it every day for some worker and just going to the airport costs me 6 bucks in tolls alone.
A one buck toll and discount fast passes for worker on weekdays would help raise alot of the $. also think of the job creation
