Snapshot - Rookie or Vet QB in 2011?

Stay connected for news and updates

There has been a lot of debate recently about who should start, whether it should be Ponder, Webb or a Vet and who that Vet should be. Now while I have my personal opinion on who I think should start between Ponder and Webb, and also which vet I would like to bring in if we were going that route....

But what i cant quite decide is who do I actually want to start against the Chargers. So a simple question to y'all:

Vet or Rookie?

(For the purposes of this poll Webb falls under the Rookie category)

I'm torn between the two to be honest. On the one hand, having a Vet to come in, train with our young QB's and show them what is expected of a Pro QB in terms of preperation, studying etc would be great. Ponder & Webb could learn a lot from a McNabb / Hasselbeck figure. Allowing them to learn a  bit and come in towards the end of the year if we are out of the play-off race.

However, there is always the old saying 'learn by doing'. We have the ground game in place for a Rookie to ride for the first season and whilst our defense wasnt up to its usual standard last year, its still one of the best out there and would mean that a Rookie wouldnt have to be chasing big leads in every game. Bradford has done alright after being dropped in at the VERY deep end at in St Louis, and its been said before that Sanchez, Freeman, Flacco etc have done ok starting day from 1.

What doy ou guys think?
