Vikings Officials Meet With Los Angeles Officials...Gee, I Wonder What That Could Be About

Stay connected for news and updates

Charley Walters reported this little nugget today in his 'Don't Print That' section of his column:

Spotted at the W Hotel in downtown Minneapolis on Tuesday night were members of Vikings owner Zygi Wilf's management and stadium development team meeting with LA Live! honcho Tim Leiweke and his AEG team that is considering a stadium for Los Angeles.

I've been sounding the horn for years that if the Vikings don't have a stadium deal in place by the time their lease in the Metrodome runs out, they will leave.  They have stated that the Metrodome is no longer a viable NFL facility, and that they are working on getting Arden Hills done.  And the lease runs out after the 2011 season.

But there are a lot of people who are working just as hard to scuttle Arden Hills, and if that happens, the Vikes are gone.  The NFL wants a franchise in Los Angeles, and the Vikings will be the prime candidate to go.

The Legislature better quit farting around and get this done, or they will be forever known as The Idiots Who Let The Vikings Leave.

Call your congressman, call your senator, call the Governor, the Speaker of the house, and the Senate Majority Leader to encourage them to get this bill across the finish line.

Pass the damn Arden Hills bill.
