My Next Jersey Purchase Will Be A Chris Kluwe Jersey
Honestly, if you're a Vikings fan, how can you not love this guy?
Word is coming out that four of the ten named plaintiffs in the Brady vs. NFL case. . .Saints' quarterback Drew Brees, Patriots' offensive lineman Logan Mankins, Chargers' wide receiver Vincent Jackson, and Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning. . .are attempting to cut their own deal with the league and potentially holding up the entire lockout negotiation process for the other 1,900 or so players in the NFL.
Well, at least one person has spoken out about it.
Sigh, and once again greed is the operative byword. Congrats Brees, Manning, Mankins, and Jackson for being 'that guy'. #douchebags
If it's wrong for me to want to purchase a jersey with a punter's name on it, I have no desire to be right.
The thing is that he's exactly right. . .if these four players are hindering progress by attempting to cut their own deals, they really ought to consider just shutting the hell up and getting the hell out of the way. Training camp is supposed to start next week, and the big free-for-all for free agents is supposed to kick off on Monday (for signing your own free agents) and Thursday (for all of the free agency to begin), pending an agreement.
Kluwe is exactly right on this. I'm glad he's on our side.

The voice of reason yet again!
Brees and Manning should know better than to willingly sully their reputations. They aren’t exactly skating by on their salaries.

The pathetic thing about this
Is that about 90% of the negotiations revolve around players of this stature anyways. Why they feel the need to stick in their own rules is ridiculous. Players should be outraged and embarassed that their players’ “representation” is pulling this shit. Long live the Craft!

I might actually log onto my twitter account again because of this
I setup a twitter acct when all this garbage on the lockout started because I thought I would get some juicy info or something(which is not tru at all)

A Kluwe Jersey is a must!
but I want “Warcraft” on the back of it. I vote this guy for pres. after he gets the first MVP award as a punter

What does that mean exactly ?
are attempting to cut their own deal with the league and potentially holding up the entire lockout negotiation process for the other 1,900 or so players in the NFL.
Some of the mentioned players are FA’s, and some aren’t.
A couple are the face of their franchizes, and a couple aren’t.
All have surpassed their rookie deals, so I’m confused as to what they’re negotiating ?
They're trying to get a "special deal" with the owners
stating that none of them can be franchised(tag) ever again(or something like that). To sum it all up, they’re involved to represent themselves, not the 1900+ other players in the league. They’re selfish and when the owners(who obviously haven’t been easy to work given the fact they locked out the players) disagree on proposals that these individuals add to the CBA, it has a chance to ruin the entire process and would hurt the less-paid/known players in the league. Manning, Brees, Brady, Jackson, Mankins: they all make an assload of $$. The guy’s they’re representing, not so much.
Skol!
Good G-d is he right.
I was just about to whip up a quick piece blasting those four when I heard about their little personal ‘side bet’ in this whole deal. There’s no way I can top Kluwe’s Twittering though. Good on him.
HAAADOKEN! Daily Norseman
I don’t buy for a second that with all the acrimony that resulted in the owners locking out the players, that four players are holding up the process.
They're trying to add in special circumstances for them and them alone
That, my friend, is impeding the process.
Skol!
If Peyton wants to escape from the colts I’m fine with that. I’d think that the Vikings with Manning would be better than the Colts with Manning and the same could be said for quite a few other teams. If I were Manning I’d want to leave Indy too…
The same thing happened the last time there was a new CBA, so it’s not like what they are doing is unprecedented.

Vikings Punter Calls Manning, Brees, others ‘douchebags’
I could not agree more Chris.
i love the comments
At least 3 comments in the vein of “can’t expect much else from a Viking” and the obligatory “punters aren’t real football players anyway”. I wasn’t aware that Minnesota was nothing but hillbillys.

The comments in the PFT version of the story
Are pretty much the same. . .a lot of support for Kluwe, but you get the occasional “punters should be seen and not heard” idiots out there.

I suppose this explains.......
Brady’s lawsuit/side bet? I was of the understanding that it was more or less a counter to the owners’ lockout and in consort with the NFLPA. Is this an indication that it was more about feathering his own nest or am I misreading it/
Indeed, it seems they were looking out for themselves
Not the players. Interesting thing is, when this framework was first announced last week, Brees supposedly said it was a fair proposal. Hmmm….

A bit more Kluwe if anybody is interested
He did a AMA on Reddit awhile back. Nothing about the lockout or anything since this happened before that but it’s chalk full of Kluwe, both about football and how big of a nerd he is.
(Not sure if this would be conisered off-topic or not but I figured i’d post it. Also, for those that have never been, Reddit is a legit site. Not gonna get anything from clicking the link)

I wonder what would happen to Manning or Brees if
their respective offensive lines “slipped and fell” on the same play that Ray Lewis was on an all out blitz.
Your fantasy football expert since Jerry Rice's rookie year.
Way to go Kluwe!
Love reading how fans of other teams are now ordering his jersey! Brees on the other hand is getting slammed over at CSC and rightly so, if any Viking pulled what he and the other three have done he would get the same here. Glad to see Saint’s fans holding true to the game and not the players greed.

I want no special perks. My job is to get a fair deal for all players, and I am proud to represent them all – past, present and future
BULLSHI…..well, you get what I’m saying
Skol!
Hes a Manning...
His 1st priority is himself….
Daddy was this way too, Daddy is this way too…..
Im not surprised.
The Mannings may be the most over exposed family vs the Kardashian.
And im pretty sure Peyton looks better in a dress then the oldest one too….

WHAAT??
so here’s the Strib article on this. Notice anything weird? The comments section mostly hating on Kluwe. Think there’s some people trying to influence some political figures with comments on the Strib(trying to connect dots to that other situation we have in Minny)
Skol!
Interesting how everyone buys everything Cluwe is writing
without doing any actual fact-checking. ESPN actually has an entire article on the subject that reads like a junior high journalist wrote it. Lots of speculation, innuendo, etc but no actual facts.
Same with Cluwe. Is no one asking where he got his info? Is he in direct communication with the parties involved? Or is he getting everything second hand?
Ive seen multiple articles on it...
I dont know the validity, noone but those mentioned above know the validity…
However, im more likely to think Kluwe has an inside word on something like this since like…well, hes a player…And has been pretty up to date on all the ins and outs of this stuff.

New one...

So if hes standing by his tweets, why are they now saying Manning and Brees arent involved? lol
I like to think he has a better inside track on this, but im now confused…
**Rupert for ProBowl 2012!**
My guess is
Brees and Manning = big superstars whose asses require covering
Kluwe = just some guy that punts for the Vikings
That’s just my guess, though

Serious backpedaling? Caught a whiff of public backlash?
Honestly, I think they’re guilty by association. The 2 dipshits that are being crybabies are Jackson and Mankins. Those two are so butthurt from how their situations got handled last year and are upset that I think they’re both franchised this year too. All they want is their free agency or else for some reason, they believe that the franchise amount isn’t enough and they each need an extra $10mil.
Skol!
And I'll say it again...
Chris Kluwe is a hilariously profane kind of poet laureate on Twitter. I would love to see him as a special correspondent to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. And the idea of having Warcraft jerseys is so fun someone just has to do it and post pics for us.
