Larry Fitzgerald

I'm going to start this by saying that I'm very upset about Sidney Rice's decision to move on from his life with the Vikings. I think he was a great talent who will be sorely missed (but good luck with TJack there pal, I'm sure you're have a blast).

Now I've seen many people say things along the lines of, "This just clears up a sport for Larry Fitzgerald next year." To which I have to respond, "Really?" I don't mean to sound angry or condescending, and if I come across as such I apologize, but do you really think the Cardinals are just going to let him walk away? I would be extremely surprised if they don't have a Franchise Tag offer sheet with his name on it already written up. That's like people in Denver or New York saying, "Well, we missed out on Deangelo Williams, that'll just open up a spot for Adrian Peterson next year." There's about as good a chance that the Vikings will be able to secure Larry Fitzgerald as there is that the NFL and their officials will go an entire season without seriously screwing over the Vikings.

Now I'm not just writing this post to rant and rave about how we're never going to get Fitz. It probably be the biggest FA signing the Vikings have ever made (though I feel Tarkenton would have something to say about that). I would like to know how people expect the Cardinals to relinquish Larry Fitzgerald, who has said in the past that he wants to remain in Arizona. He's the face of their franchise and probably one of the top 5 best players in the NFL right now. The only chance I see us having would be to trade for him, which would probably take about what the Cowboys gave up for Roy Williams. I don't think I would be too upset by that trade. Here's my question DN, how do you expect the Vikings to have a snowball's chance in hell of acquiring Larry Fitzgerald?
