D line

Was anyone concerned that our D line did not seem to get pressure on the QB most of the night?  It seemed to me that there was way to much time in the pocket for Tony Romo.  This with the exception of the third down play in which JA busted the pocket and we got a sack.

Star-divide

Part of this is that we do not have KW starting, I do not expect a sack but we need more pressure.  Is this a view of the regular season or is this just the preseason and not to worry?

I wasn't worried.

However, I did notice that when Tyrell Johnson entered the game that it seemed like the Cowboys passing attack went into overdrive.

Dallas has a better o-line than most

And one good thing – Christian Ballard got another sack. He’s had a great preseason so far, and they might really get lucky on him. A 4th round pick who might actually be the long term replacement for Kevin Williams? That’s good drafting.

Ballard dropped because of popping for Marijuana didn't he?

I remember him being rated as being between a late 1st round-mid 2nd round talent at one point. He’s looked good so far and might be a steal at where the Vikings got him.

Yes

Failed a test for marijuana. Saw him interviewed on NFL Network before the draft — the guy is a jazz musician, so I’m guessing he’s a high risk to fail again later… haha

I have liked what I see in our DE's and DT's

Guion has played really well and when KWill comes back he’ll probably slide overwith him and Remi rotating and Ballard coming in to relieve KWill from time to time. Pagac is going to be more aggressive in blitzing so I see our sack totals going up, and the added pressure will help our secondary.

Gotta keep in mind that we aren't unleashing the defense at this point

We don’t want to show off too much of our blitz packages during the preseason. Not having Kevin is big too though.

The same goes for the Offense

The road to fulfillment in any line of endeavor is always marked by an initial breakthrough; however, that first taste of success needs to be replicated again and again in order for supremacy to be sustained. We are Vikings, and we shall rise again.

This also might be one of the reasons they are looking at Griffen in the OLB spot

He pulls back there and can get a solid running start in, he’s going to kill someone.

I re-watched a lot of the game last night...

…and it seemed as though a lot of Romo’s completions were on quick-slants

better

fix that before the GB game

Try to learn from others mistakes because there just is not enough time in this world to make them all your self

I thought the DL looked good considering KWill wasn’t in the game. Robison held the edge well, and got close to pressure on Romo. Guion and Ballard played well on the interior. I expect more from Allen; were his balls cut with his mullet?
