The news has finally broken; the NFL will suspend Kevin WIlliams without pay for two games, effective immediately on September 3rd. Williams will be eligible to return after the September 18th home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will also be fined two games pay following the suspension for violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Personally, I don't like that the NFL is telling us 10 days before the regular season begins, but on the plus side, it gives his plantar fasciitis time to heal, and we now know before the roster cuts. I still, however, believe that it's a pretty bogus suspension. Especially if Will Smith of the New Orleans Saints (who hasn't received word from the NFL yet) will not be suspended.
