Vikings Rewind: Adrian Peterson makes NFL history vs Chargers

Hey Vikings fans, long time reader, this is my first FanPost on Daily Norseman. I just wanted to share my Adrian Peterson hilite video when he ran for 296 yards against the San Diego Chargers in November of 2007. Even though the season has been a disappointment so far hopefully this will remind everyone that we still have the best RB in the NFL (McFadden would be 2nd imo, and Chris Johnson behind Toby Gerhart). Anyways, enjoy the video and Vikings, please don't ruin another Sunday for me.

that was then ,this is now. we won't ever see a day like that from adrian again, imo.

too many people key on him, our o-line sucks, and we don’t give him the ball enough.

warcraft, you are my guitar hero !!!

Well duh,

It’s unlikely we’ll ever see a day like that from anyone ever again.

I can’t remember the last time AD had a 200yrd game.

That was fun to watch. Thanks for posting it.

It also reminded me how much turnover there is in the NFL. I didn’t remember Bollinger being QB in that game among other things.

Let’s hope we get back on track soon and see some more of these games in the future.

Herrera

was blocking like a beast. I think losing Birk was the downfall. Childress gets the nod for drafting AD but the demerit for driving Birk away. So close, yet so far away….

On the other hand

If Fusco can develop into a really good center, we are one good LT away from having a really great running game. Look at the rest of the O there: TJ and Bollinger, Wade and Ferguson. Not any better than what we have now — actually worse. How long can Kleinssasser last?

We already have a great running game

If we can sole the O-Line, our running game will be beastly and we will lead the NFL in rushing for years to come.

Did you notice how far back AD was set?

Seriously, he was already moving and still a good 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage when he got the ball, and had a lot of momentum by the time he got there. I don’t know if that makes a lot of difference, but these days it seems like he’s set a lot closer and has almost no momentum worth mentioning until after he breaks past the line of scrimmage.

To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

He has no momentum because he’s dodging five guys before he gets to the line. I would like to see him lining up deeper more though.

Go to 7:14 on that video and look at the GIANT gap he get’s. If we could have an O-Line like that again…

The problem

with that lineup was, if you recall, that it told the D what the call was, as AD lined up that deep ONLY on plays that he was going to get the handoff. Seriously, it was almost comical. The San Diego game that year was still early. It became completely obvious as the year progressed and the next year.

I downloaded this game off myp2p website, that site unfortunately is no longer running (hacked?). Then I just used windows movie maker and voila. Glad you liked it.

I might just watch this instead of the 2nd half today. Thank you.
