Poll: why did the Packers lose?

Option 1.

Option1_medium

I'm not sure how to answer that question. It really comes down to how well this beret - which has no functional purpose in below-freezing weather - matches this suit I borrowed from my dad and this shirt from the Docker's Adolescents Collection. Wait, what's that? We're defending world champions who just went 15-1? I don't remember us being on Sportscenter. #Tebow

Option 2.

Maybe I should have grown a playoff beard instead of sporting a bad teenage mustache and gluing a sponge onto my chin.

(semi) Apologies to Packers fans, but you'll get even soon enough. #WeCouldBeBadForAVeryLongTime

Disgusting

When you have “Mutt” and Troy clearly flabbergasted at the calls. The Fox on air ref (Pererra ?)trying to be as politically correct about the blown calls. The NFL network making comments such as “terrible call” and “blown call”, there isn’t much gray area with them. Those calls could easily have meant the game for the Giants. Leavy should never see an NFL field ever again.

The non fumble, fumble lead to 7
The clean tackle on Rodgers lead to 7
The poor spot for the Giants lead to a punt instead of possible points for the Giants.

A lot of teams don’t come back from that.

Didn't Leavy also ref the NFC Championship game in New Orleans?

I could be wrong but Leavy or Jeff Tripplette seem to be the ref in every game that’s so badly officiated you start to wonder about fixing.

Honest opinion

Dropped passes and ball security.

They 2009 Vikings themselves out of contention with so many turnovers/drops. (Although the Vikes made a far better showing of it.)

And

The Giants monster pass rush coupled with the Packers playing a banged up left tackle.

We went in their house and fought till the last breath...the refs had to snatch it from our dead cold fingers!

Packers were playing at home, after 15-1 season, resting for 2-3 weeks and with 100% referee support to their team.
I would say our loss still allows us to keep our heads up. Cant say the same for the Packers.

No defense and no running game

Exactly

Look at the 2 teams in the NFC championship game this weekend both play stellar defense and both have punishing running games. It goes to show you that you can throw the ball all over the yeard and put up all the points in the world and yards but if u cant stop the other team and control the clock u arent gonna win a game when it counts. When your leading rusher is Rodgers and he is no mike vick u have problems.

The giants WR’s are better than GB’s. You look at the Majority of Rodgers throws to WR’s he is a master of the back shoulder pass but those WR’s cant get off a press to save their lives Better luck nxt year Chz heads

I don't think you can really look at the running games, though

Honestly, they both just have amazing defenses, and QBs who can make the throws when they need it. The key to beating Brees and Rodgers? Turn-overs. Those defenses are opportunistic.

You really didn’t see any huge running games by the Giants/49’ers. It was mostly the QB’s getting the yards when it mattered, and the defenses getting their offense the ball often.

What did people expect?

Rodgers had an astronomical year for them to be this good. When he was average, they fell apart. We can thank McCarthy for resting his players too :)

Dropped balls, no running game

and their secondary looked like ours, but worse.

The Vikes aren't in a remodeling or reconstruction they are in a burn the place down and start praying they don't mimic the Lions rebuilding process.

Dropped balls and underestimating your opponent

Analysts put too much focus on season-long statistical rankings. Just because the Giants running game was 32nd in rushing yardage does not make them the worst running team in the league. Nor does the Packers’ running stats account for the fact that everyone is worried about Rodgers.

Giants opened up the year with 7-8 guys injured on defense or on IR. Took a few weeks for the new and young crew to gel. So the stats from those early games skew the stats away from recent performances.

Same reason that if Peyton comes back next year, I’m not picking the Colts to be the worst team in football.

2012 mock (Manningham resigns) - 1: Janoris Jenkins CB / Chase Minnifield CB, 2: Kevin Zeitler LG / Ben Jones C-LG / Cordy Glenn LG-RT, 3: Keenan Robinson SAM, 4: Neiko Thorpe FS, 5: Vic Ballard RB / Brandon Bolden RB

(Manningham lost) - 1: Marvin McNutt WR, 2: Kevin Zeitler LG / Ben Jones C-LG / Cordy Glenn LG-RT, 3: Keith Tandy CB, 4: Neiko Thorpe FS, 5: Vic Ballard RB / Brandon Bolden RB

Think about it

Take away Aaron Rodgers what else to the packers do well? Nothing. look at their season the team was in shoot outs in almost every game. Overrated does not even begin to describe that team.

Matt Flynn

If something happened to Rodgers i think Flynn couldve stepped in and done well lets see when he is outta that system next year and a starter somewhere in the NFL

yeah sure but they would end up bieng a 9-7 team

My two favorite teams ( At least until Vikes meet them in a match): 49ers and Giants!

In that order, for making this season suck a lot less than it was going to!

Now now...

Let’s not forget the sparkles. Clearly a blown call by Meagan.

Having one of the easiest schedules in NFL did them in.

They were not prepared for a team ready to outplay them.
Their lone loss made them vulnerable.
The Giants were battle ready.

Green Bay miscues and mistimings could have it’s roots into Rodgers not playing in final game where Flynn did a stellar performance of 6 TD’s. One might think that if Rodgers was having such a tough time, could Flynn have made a difference?

In short, GB was cocky and arrogant with their home field advantage. The food was in the oven, but forgot to set the timer! It was a failure in over cooking.

Vikings in 2012 will be a Wonder-ful year. Seriously!!
I also love the game of golf. My favorite golf GPS app is OptimalClub.
