So, the 2011 NFL season is almost over, and it has been over for our beloved Vikings for almost 3 weeks now. With the January 15th deadline to declare for the NFL Draft behind us, there has been a lot of early speculation about what the Vikings should do with their #3 draft pick. Here are DN, we’ve had lots of lively discussions already about potential draft day scenarios. So, after scouring the internet for various draft rankings, I decided to average all of these early rankings into a cumulative draft ranking to see what kind of consensus (if any) there was about the top 10 draft rankings. Check them out after the jump.

Conclusion
What is interesting to me, is that the first 8 names on the list are consensus top 10 guys. That's a lot of consensus. I also find it interesting that Andrew Luck and Matt Kalil are #1 and #2 respectively for every single ranking. Are both guys really that much better than everyone else? Keep in mind, this is an early ranking and we haven’t had the scouting combine, pro days, or individual workouts yet, so most rankings are based on college career stats, and film study at this point. Heck, the Senior Bowl is still over a week away. So, after seeing this early cumulative ranking, who should the Vikings draft at #3? Well, if they followed this ranking religiously, they would select Morris Claiborne, CB out of LSU. I can’t say that I would be terribly upset with that pick, especially if Matt Kalil is already off the board. That said, like many of you here, I think we could easily trade down a few spots to acquire a pick or two, and have a very good shot at guys like Riley Reiff, Jonathan Martin or even Justin Blackmon. It’s way too early to tell if these rankings will hold up over the next few months, but I am definitely going to revisit this ranking after the combine to see how they change. Players will continue to rise and fall on various rankings all the way up until draft day. But either way, we're in a really good position to load the roster with talent.
