Update On Our Super Bowl Squares Board
Since I was unable to bump yesterday's story for a couple of reasons, I'll just go ahead and do up a new post here for the status of our Super Bowl Squares game to benefit Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors.
Thus far, 27 of the 100 squares have been purchased, which means that we're over a quarter of the way to filling up the board. To this point, all of the squares that have been claimed are bought and paid for, which is pretty sweet. I know that it's that time of the month where folks might be waiting for pay day, and that's fine. . .we just want to have the board filled up before kickoff on Sunday, February 5.
If you need the information about the board again, here it is. The board is located at
http://www.superbowlsquares.org/5hqbe
The username for the board is dnh4ww, and the password is skol. All in lower case just like you see there. When you are ready to send the payment in, the proper PayPal address is DailyNorseman AT Gmail DOT com (substituting the proper symbols in the obvious places there). Remember, when you PayPal the money, please use "Other" as your reason for payment, or else PayPal will charge a fee in between the time it goes from your bank account to the PayPal account.
So there you have it. . .we're more than a quarter of the way to raising $1,000 for Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors. If you want to get in on the action, you still can!

Is it really random?
Just a procedural question. Will each row and column be randomly assigned a team-number combo? That is, can row 1 be Patriots 4 and row 2 be Giants 9? Or, once row 1 is assigned Patriots 4, will row 2 be automatically assigned Patriots 5?
Or, does one team get all the rows and the other gets all the columns? If so, there may be some probabilistic strategy that may give certain squares an edge. :-)
Nope
All the numbers across the top will represent the Giants’ score, and all the numbers down the side will represent the Patriots’ score.
However, the numbers aren’t being drawn until after the whole 10×10 grid has been filled. So, as it stands now, no square has a particular advantage over any other square.

And yes
The assignment of the numbers is random. Once the grid is complete, all I have to do is hit the “Generate Numbers” button, and the numbers for both the rows and the columns will be randomly assigned. I have nothing to do with that process outside of hitting the button.

Odds
For those interested, after the numbers are generated you can check your odds here:
Hopefully you’re not the one with 2-2.
I'm In
I bought 2 squares. I didn’t want to appear greedy so I stopped at 2, but I can buy more later if needed.
I would also suggest that if we get to the end and have fewer than 20 unsold squares, instead of giving up and refunding money, we give the unassigned squares to Homes for Wounded Warriors and just reduce the pay-offs proportionally to how much we collected.
Im in for more if needed
But Ill wait till later in the week so every body has a chance.
