Vote For Kyle Rudolph For 2011 NFL Play Of The Year
"filbert33" pointed this out in the FanPosts yesterday, but I thought I'd highlight it here.
NFL.com has their list of what they've deemed to be the 20 greatest plays of the 2011 NFL season, and the Vikings' lone representative on the list is rookie tight end Kyle Rudolph, who makes the list because of this incredible touchdown catch against the Denver Broncos.
Absolutely ridiculous catch by Rudolph, and something that I certainly hope we see a whole lot more of in the future.
Head on over to the site linked above and vote for Rudolph's catch. I mean, it's not going to win or anything, I would wager. . .if any play other than this one wins, I'll be pretty surprised.
But we can at least push Rudolph a little bit higher up on the list, if nothing else. For full disclosure, the two plays above were the top two on my list, and I followed those up with Patrick Peterson's walk-off punt return, Jerome Simpson's front flip for a touchdown, and the Carolina Panthers running the Annexation of Puerto Rico against the Houston Texans.
The winning play will be revealed at the "NFL Honors" show in Indianapolis on Saturday.

The play that sticks out to me when talking about great plays of the year is the Flip for a touchdown.
\m/
Who gave who the bird for a touchdown?
:-)
Seriously, are you talking about the shuffle pass to Gerhart? I’m not sure what play you are talking about.

Only flipping bird I saw this year
was from AJ Hawk.

Also amazing
Is the fact they barely used Rudolph this year… only 26 receptions… I hope they can at least double that next year…

Love it
And soley for the fact that he’s making the Packers look silly. It gets my #2 vote as well. :D
Ponder. Peterson. Percy. Purple Perfection.
The winner will be the flip
That was just amazing. I don’t think you’ll ever see a TD like that again.
Plus, you know, bonus points for landing it.
That play needed a sound track.
“I’m flying! This is so cool. Uh oh, guy about to clip my foot. Oh no, I’m spinning out of control. I’M FREAKING GOING TO DIE! OMG! AHHHHH! [impact] Oh, hey, that worked out okay. I’m alive. ESPN, you catch that thing I just did! Ha ha! I meant to do that! "

Definitely incredible
I love Rudy’s over-the-top grab, but it can’t compete with that front flip. That was just crazy, and it wasn’t even a dive, it was a full, two-footed front flip.

SKOL!
I nominate that clip
for lamest play-by-play of the century.
The Blount Run that is...
Joe Buck is so lame. One of the best runs in a long time and he has to fake enthusiasm, and even then he fails horribly. Would much rather hear PA call that play.
i love that enthusiasm
coming from the most exciting commentator in the history of man.
he goes by the name of joe buck
Where is the Garcon TD where whole offense took out defenders one-by-one?
That was one beautiful play!
