Super bowl shuffle, without all that Bear crap.
Howdy ho fellow Viking fanatics. Up and coming is the biggest game not involving the Minnesota Vikings there is. While this puts the game on an equal standing with some curling events the flow of the nation is such that most if not all of us will be watching this with at least 300 of our closest friends. Because of this I thought I would introduce you to how my friends and I cook up our superbowl breakfast.

Ok that wasn't really me, since I'm still alive I'm sure you could figure that out. However, it does raise an interesting question (no not how many calories can one human take in a bite) but more importantly what are each of us doing on this hallowed day? Is this a day of mourning? I can see some of us wrapped in a blanket bemoaning losses of yesteryear. Or is this a family gathering with little ones scampering about? Personally for me it's five friends and a mountain of food (and a wee bit of the ol liquor.). This year I'm hosting and am making runzas. (if you want the recipe and I know you do just ask!)
So what are you all doing?

Heck if I know just found em on the internet.
Meat stuffed in bread. :) So what are you making? I’m thinking with a name like Admiral BigGun it’s going to be kielbasa’s… more likely nachos…
The Vikes aren't in a remodeling or reconstruction they are in a burn the place down and start praying they don't mimic the Lions rebuilding process.
Little BigGuns
Is what I call them… Little Smokies wrapped in bacon topped with brown sugar and placed in a crockpot. :)

The wife has promised to make hot wings.
They were hard to find last year, so I hope she’s already bought them.
I guess I’ll be pulling for New England, just because I like to see the “little guys” do well. By little guys, I mean Welker and Woodhead.

Is this your average breakfast Grime?
The video gave me a hangover just watching it! Back in the day that might seem appealing but these day I’d be three sheets in the wind before the game ever started. Someone has to have an awesome recipe for us to try. I’ll hunt one up. But I agree with JethroBo it’s hard to go wrong with hot wings.

Lol no...
but super bowl breakfast? Hell yeah! A quick trip to the ER for a couple rounds with the paddles and it’s time to head back and watch the Bowl! Just think one of these days we might actually get to watch the Vikes in one that isn’t a rerun… :p

I'll be eating xanax out of a cereal bowl if that ever happens.

OK. Steak Fajita Chili. Yum!

1 1/4 cups canola oil
2 pounds boneless beef short ribs
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
10 cups low-sodium beef broth
1 small onion, finely diced
1 red or green bell pepper, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons hot chili powder
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 15-ounce can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
Guacamole, sour cream, taco-blend cheese and fried tortilla strips, for garnish
Directions
Heat 1/4 cup canola oil in a large soup pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Season the short ribs with salt and pepper and sear until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer the meat to another large pot (set the first pot aside) and add the broth. Cover and cook until tender, about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat the remaining 1 cup oil in the reserved pot over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, cumin, chili powder, oregano, flour, 1 tablespoon pepper, and salt to taste. Cook, stirring, until the flour is smooth, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside until the meat is done.
Transfer the short ribs to a cutting board; cover the broth and set aside. Let the meat cool slightly, then cut into chunks. Place the pot with the vegetables over medium-high heat. Slowly add the warm broth and whisk until smooth. Stir in the chopped short ribs and the beans, bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 15 minutes. Ladle into bowls and garnish with guacamole, sour cream, cheese and fried tortilla strips, for a little extra crunch.

What the hell is a cannellini bean?

They are white beans
You use them to make um white chili… I know kinda sold itself :D
Last year I made never ending nachos, and wings with scotch bonnets sauce. that and a keg of beer was a horrible idea as the mess was, impressive. So this year is meat in a bun with no exits. hoping the cleaning bill will be a bit easier.

It helps to thicken the chili and adds a nice texture and richer flavor (thank you Google)
some use masa flour. Of course you could skip it based on personal preference and just make a batch of cornbread with it.

you can also use corn starch
Less of it goes farther and you don’t get the floury taste. However flour in chili just sounds lazy.
