Everson Griffen Out Indefinitely After The Passing Of His Mother

Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Sad news out of Vikings camp today, as the Minnesota defensive end learned about the sudden passing of his mother.

Some sad, tragic news out of Vikings camp today. Defensive end Everson Griffen learned that his mother passed away on Wednesday, while she was visiting him in the Twin Cities. The death sounds like it was very unexpected, which always makes it tougher.

My full post is up over at the SB Nation Minnesota regional site here: http://minnesota.sbnation.com/minnesota-vikings/2012/10/11/3490612/minnesota-vikings-everson-griffen-redskins/in/3253643

There's no timetable on Griffen's return, as it should be. Leslie Frazier and the team have given Griffen time to mourn his loss for as long as he needs.

I'm sure everyone here at Daily Norseman joins me in sending thoughts and prayers to Everson Griffen and his family during what's sure to be an incredibly tough time for them.
