Once again, the ground rules for the Game Threads:

-Thou shalt not promote illegal feeds of today's game, or I shall kick thy arse to the curb until the game is over. Thou hast been warned.

-Thou shalt make an attempt to keep the swearing to a minimum. Understandable that it will slip occasionally, but do try to limit it.

-Thou shalt not feed the trolls. Rather, thou shall simply point them out, and they shall be banished to the fires of Mordor. Or Wisconsin. Whichever we feel is more harsh at the time.

-Thou shalt not engage in racist, sexist, or other such insulting rhetoric. Somebody disagreeing with you does not make them racist or sexist. It means they disagree with you. Talk it out like adults.

-Thou shalt not bait the fans of other teams into trolling.

-Basically, thou shalt not be a jackwagon in the game thread.

The Minnesota Vikings will look to continue their impressive start to the 2012 NFL season as they travel to the nation's capital to take on the Washington Redskins this afternoon. After much speculation, star rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III will start for the Redskins at quarterback today, and we'll see how much the injury he suffered last week will affect him today.

This is a big game for the Vikings. If they can win this afternoon, they will take sole possession of first place in the NFC North division, with the Chicago Bears getting this week off. In his short NFL head coaching career, Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier is undefeated at FedEx Field (2-0). . .not that that statistic means anything in the grand scheme of things, but it's fun to point out. Hopefully the head coach can keep his unblemished mark going on the Redskins' home field.

If the Vikings are going to win this one, they'll probably be doing so through the air. The Redskins are second-to-last in the National Football League against the pass, allowing a whopping 328.6 yards/game through the air. (The only team worse is a team we'll see in a couple of weeks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.) They're 10th in the NFL against the run, allowing 87.8 yards/game on the ground.

The Redskins haven't done a great job of stopping people from scoring, either. . .they're currently allowing 29.4 points/game, putting them 29th in the NFL. They have managed to intercept six passes this season, so Christian Ponder will have to continue being smart with the football. However, if the Vikings execute on offense the way they have so far this season, they should have a chance to put up plenty of points.

Another fun stat. . .the Minnesota Vikings have the fewest pre-snap penalties in the NFL through the first five weeks of the season. They have. . .are you ready for this. . .two. One false start penalty and one illegal motion penalty. Not killing yourself with dumb penalties will always be beneficial, and the Minnesota Vikings have avoided that so far this season. Hopefully they will continue to do so this afternoon.

Oh, and if you're Redskins' defensive back DeJon Gomes. . .well, I hope you brought an extra change of underwear. Adrian Peterson is coming.

Kickoff is about 90 minutes away, ladies and gentlemen, so we should be getting the inactive lists just about any time now. Keep it tuned right here for all the action of Minnesota Vikings football!

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
