Defensive lineman Everson Griffen will leave the team Thursday evening for the funeral of his mother, who died last week. Frazier said Griffen will be accompanied by general manager Rick Spielman and will return in time to play Sunday.
A classy way to help a team player through a tough time in his life. Spielman going with Everson is beyond what one would expect from an employer. Everson, we have lost loved ones and it takes time to go through the grieving process especially when they are a close family member. As a fan of this team and its players you have my deepest sympathy on your tremendous loss. Keep your faith that the team and fans have their thoughts and prayers with you in your time of need.
I'm proud to be a fan of an organization showing such strong support of its players. Not missing a game during this time is uplifting and I hope that attitude carries over to your team.
Hope all has gone well for you!
