Bears Having Slight Offensive Line Issues

Rob Grabowski-US PRESSWIRE

Coming off of a game where they allowed six sacks. . .five to San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith. . .you would think that the Chicago Bears might be doing something with their offensive line. According to our friends at Windy City Gridiron, however, Da Bears appear to be taking things to a whole new level.

Among the developments with the Bears' o-line, according to the stream over at WCG. . .

-Starting right tackle Gabe Carimi, who the Bears drafted in the first round of the 2011 Draft, has been benched. Not sure who the Bears are going with in his place, but it was Carimi that spent the majority of last Monday night getting his tail kicked by Aldon Smith
-Starting guard Chilo Rachal was told on Tuesday that he was getting benched. He took it so well that he declared that he was leaving the team, only to come back about 24 hours later. He's been placed on the reserve/not injured list.

The team has also signed guard Chris Riley to the practice squad, and also promoted tackle James Brown from the practice squad. I suppose that means that Brown has the opportunity to get up (get on up).

There still hasn't been any definitive word on whether or not Jay Cutler will start at quarterback for the Bears on Sunday, either. But if the Minnesota Vikings have the sort of defensive lineman that we think they have or that they're purported to have, it shouldn't make much difference with the Bears' offensive line issues. Jared Allen, Brian Robison, Kevin Williams and company should be able to make things miserable for whatever quarterback is out there, whether it's Cutler or Jason Campbell.

By the way, if you're in the Chicago area and interested in getting Minnesota Vikings tickets, there are still some available for you to purchase at the link there.
