When I was in 6th grade I got in a fight with a tenth grader that had fifty pounds on me. Karate Kid was fresh in my mind and I had spent most of that summer practicing "the swan kick" on my Sister. One split lip later and I decided to stop trying to be something that I am not.
A couple decades later and here I am watching the remaining minute and change of the Vikings embarrassing loss at Chicago and having a serious flash-back to that fateful day so long ago when my karate tournament winning hopes were dashed. Embarrassed for Ponder and angry with Musgrave I began to wonder why the Vikings coaching staff had suddenly decided that we are a passing team.......something that we are not.
With arguably the best RB of all time on our team we are most definitely a run first team. Even against one of the best running defenses in the league AP needs to get the ball as often as possible fumbles or not. So how did we end up with almost twice as many pass attempts as runs and a 20+ point deficit at the half? Maybe this was Musgraves own "split lip epiphany".
An explanation is in order.........
