So, I just found this article on ESPN that says that Tyrann Mathieu is going to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. His history seems to be somewhat like our current star and fan favorite Percy Harvin in that both were undersized superstars that play with an unusual toughness and speed along with creating HUGE plays regularly. Seeing how our secondary has once again shown its ineptness after losing Cook, how far would Mathieu need to fall before you would start considering him?
Although he hasn't played football this year, I think he has shown great character in choosing to focus solely on getting his life together rather than taking the easy route and being a superstar at another smaller school a la Janoris Jenkins. His football skills are unquestionable as he managed to be a Heisman finalist just a year ago as a d-back. How about that for a big-play machine for a secondary that is on track for back to back 8 pick seasons (roughly) and whose leader in picks is going on 36?
