disclaimer: this is a crude comparison, and while there are some weird outliers given that i had to project incomplete seasons, it should be fairly accurate -- most numbers were rounded down unless they were close enough to round up, and any averaged projections are noted in parentheses.
i looked at the top-rated QBs of 2012 so far, and went back to their 1st and 2nd seasons as starting QBs to see how they fared in their development in the NFL. for some, they entered during their rookie season; others sat for a year or more; it's not a perfect example, but different circumstances surround the beginnings of every career.
though i will say i am in no way inferring Ponder's future, i am going to do my best to stay out of the discussion unless anything needs clarifying -- just wanted to put this out there for you to make your own decision regarding Ponder's development.
