Well, that certainly was fast.

A couple of weeks ago, it came out that Minnesota Vikings' quarterback Christian Ponder had gotten engaged to his girlfriend, ESPN reporter Samantha Steele. The two apparently started dating during the season, and I can't imagine that they've gotten to spend a whole lot of time together, given their jobs and everything.

Apparently it was enough.

The happy couple got married on Monday afternoon in Wisconsin. . .Wisconsin, for crying out loud. . .according to numerous sources. Here's a link to the story at Pro Football Talk. So. . .yeah.

Look, I don't know if this has been a distraction for Ponder to this point in the season or anything like that. I'm not sure if it's even right or proper to speculate on that sort of thing. Maybe he will go back to being more of the quarterback that he was in the early part of this season rather than the one that has sort of fallen off the cliff over the latter part of the season. Then again, maybe he won't, I don't know.

In any event, congratulations to Christian Ponder and Samantha Steele on their marriage. Here's hoping that they experience many years of marital bliss together.
